Day 1?

Depends when you're counting day one from... From seed, from veg.. Depends what you're wanting to know at the end. I count from the day i popped the seed then have a notation the day they went into full veg then i have a third notation light flip... Just making a note on the calendar makes it so you can figure out any of these numbers. Kind of a Weird question lol must be some specific reason you're asking this

The moment the seedling sprouts = Day 1 Veg

The moment I see pistils(after starting 12/12)= Day 1 Flower
I start from sprout as well, but the first 2 weeks are seedling stage. Too small really to put them on full lighting and to start feeding. At around day 14 (or whenever they seem sturdy enough with multiple leaf sets) I start the veg counter. Then restart to flower when I flip to 12/12.

But that's just me. More psychological than anything else. It's like holding your kid back a year to start kindergarten so they will be bigger and more mature in their grade.

Considering it's 3 months from start to finish - I fail to see the relevancy of whether it's day one or not.

When does day 1 start? Is it the first day that fan leaves appear?
Sorry OFF, a lot of people on here get a little upset when you start counting. I have no idea why they get weird about it. Anyway, I like to count for comparisons and try to mimic other grows. What I've been told is when they pop out of soil is day one of seedling. When you see true leaves is day one of veg. The first day of 12/12 is flower.

People anal.about counting days because it doesn't really matter. The plant tells you when its done not a calendar.

Counting days might make sense if you run clones from the same plant.

Breeder times are just a rough idea and are rarely accurate.

It just doesn't matter to you. Some people care. I wasn't talking about done. I was talking about counting.

I make a mental note of dates. Its not nessacary.

I mean in this thread people can't even agree what stage is what.

I consider the first couple of weeks as seedling then veg then flower.

I don't count the transition from veg to flower as flower time. Usually the first week to ten days. Some quicker, some slower.

Some count from flip.

Its all subjective.

As for the original question, I would count day one of seedling stage when they break ground.

I consider the start of veg after a couple weeks or so, after a few sets of leaves.

I count transition from the time of flip until good flower onset. Then flower.

Wasn't being a dick. Just saying I just gauge my plants by how they look. I don't write stuff down either. Its illegal here and that would add to a manufacturing charge.

Oh how many times have i thought "that one grow with that one plant. How many days did i flower that." Comes in real handy to have all that information if you're analytical like i am.

I guess I quit notes like 2009.....I have so many notebooks of them.....I basically do the same thing over and over. All I do is look at the plant and do what needs to be done and harvest when done......Hmm, I bet I take some again when I use the KIND in some playful growing to see what I can do with the line......

Still, days of flower are meaningless. They're done when they're done. Environmental changes effect time. So does other things....

BUT, I do see your point.....Good thing for new growers to do and learn from = notes!

When you got 500 plants going with different strains and feeding schedules. Different people working on them. You better be counting days and taking notes. The ol looking at her to see what she needs may work with small grows but not on a large scale. Days of what was done and who did it are essential.

^this I can agree with.

I guess the point most members here are trying to make is that new growers need to learn when a plant is ready. And don't just go by the breeders times. I'm sure you got an 8 week strain that was not ready in 56 days on the dot.

There's not a lot of folks here doing that. I get it! Just addressing the little guy, who will never even see such a place!

Been there done that! I've run greenhouse's.
