I've been flowering nirvana Master Kush (hindu kush x skunk) for about 58 days now. The site says that it takes 55-60 days. Ive been flushing for about 12 days (DWC, water only). some of the leaves have started turning yellow from the flush, but I'm really not seeing as many brown hairs as I think I should be seeing.

It's been without nutes for 12 days now, I was planning on harvesting this weekend, any opinions?

No offence intended but, i consider this bad advice, why put all that effort in just to get less than satisfactory results. Your bud might or might not have some fattening to do yet. But it definitely has some terpenoid production to do, thats what will give your dope that real awesome smell and taste. Not even mentioning that the reason people on this site are never satisfied with other peoples crops is they always seem to get chopped early thanks to less than sage advice that is often doled out here.
I know it hurts now, but if you can just wait until those buds are "done" you will be so much happier in the end.
And as always, this is just my opinion, you should trust it just as much as you would anything you hear, take it with a grain of salt and make up your own mind. Just know that i tell you this from experience, if you wait a little longer you will end up with better bud in the end. (and possibly bigger) I'm not telling you this so that everyone can see what a smrt growing guy i am, but because i love marijuana and am saddened when i see people listening to advice that i believe will negatively impact their final product. IMHO you'll either wait it out now, and become a believer, OR you'll chop today, be fine with your bud, but always wonder if it could have been a little fatter, stinkier, tastier.... Okay im done, Just my 2 cents.
Whatever your choice may be, happy harvest and enjoy the friuts of your labours.

I know that Im on week 7 and my ladies look a bit further along than these and Im gonna wait at least another week but probibly 2. I grew 3 plants so I may take 1 in a week then 1 the next and 1 the next and compare the different highs from the three.

I suppose the answer to your question is simple do what you feel is right...ultimately my goal is to smoke the best herb possible and not pay out the nose to do it.

They are beautiful though and its the hardest wait ever

hey guys,
thanks for all the great input. I've decided to let them go just a little bit longer. the pics you saw were from day 54 of flower. it is now day 61. There are a lot more brown hairs, and it looks more harvest-able. With my busy schedule right now, it's not that hard to wait it out. At this point, if i see enough amber trichs, I plan to harvest on day 66 (day after xmas.. ive got the whole day to myself).
thanks for all the great advice!

SZ, Not all palettes are created equal. Harvesting at just the right time is a personal thing, depending on the kind of effect you want from your plants. Robert Clarke describes a "window of opportunity" for harvest, generally between 2 to 3 weeks in duration. By examining the Trichs, one can determine the optimal time to harvest for the kind of high one prefers. Not everyone enjoys being devastated and epoxied to the couch. I prefer to harvest at 50/50 clear/milky, or at the longest, when they are mostly milky. I love the very UP/Chatty/letsgodosomething kind of high I get.
One can harvest too early or too late outside that window, but examining the trichs is the only way to accurately judge the THC/CBD/CBN content. Judging ripeness from the state of the pistils wont give you an accurate time frame. Too many variables are involved with the "turning of colors" of the pistils.

I find it tragic that almost all advice is to wait. And when you've waited and think it's time, wait another 2 weeks. Sure, the result will be potent, whats the good if you don't prefer that type of high? All the advice I read seems to be geared to give maximum couch-lock and immobilization, and not everyone likes that kind of high. Everyone to the man told me I harvested too early at 50% Clear 50% milky, but I thought it was the best high I've had in quite some time!!!
