Daylight savings time is stupid

Why the hell do we observe daylight savings time? I firmly believe that we should be going by what is as close to the actual time as possible. The ACTUAL TIME... based on the sun and the rotation of the earth... not some farmer's inability to alter the time he wakes up. There are four seasons. We are humans. We can adapt to the changing of the seasons and the cooresponding change in sunlight. We don't need to trick ourselves by arbitrarily throwing in some alteration to the time. Soooooo dumb.

Personally I enjoy THIS daylight saving's time. I like the "fall back" cuz I get an extra hour of sleep

I hate the "spring forward" because I feel robbed of an hour

No no no you're missing the point. It makes NO sense. Why don't we insert a day into the year like an extra Sunday where everyone gets to relax... Then we'll take away a Sunday some other time. It's the same thing.

i think it is completely logical... for me at least, seems to coincide with the way i live.... in the summer i can work later into the evening, more daylight hours.... in winter i can get my ass inside an hour earlier.... i know the actual amount of daylight hours is not changed, but its the perception of the daylight hours that change...

Daylight Savings is about conserving energy...

People use a lot of energy between the time they get home and after dinner...

By "sliding" the light like that, there is one more hour of peak use that gets still gets sunlight...

In our world, most everything has a financial reason...

I know about all the reasons for daylight savings time. We're still just lying to ourselves.

Most really hot places choose not to, so they don't end up with an extra hour of sun at the end of the day...

That would cause everyone to run their AC units or fans, at max for that much longer...

Makes huge sense in higher latitudes...

AHHH... The sun still shines for however many hours it is going to shine on any given day. We are ADAPTABLE animals. We wear coats in the winter when it's cold.

Sure, but it reduces the amount of time that everyone has everything plugged in...

Sure, but I cannot see us going to work an hour earlier without some kind of organized structure...

As human animals, we do not need it, but economically speaking, society has an advantage in doing it...
