Thanks guys! Yeah I still have 9 SS plants left to do. I harvested everything else earlier than I usually do, this time at 53 days. I wanted everything to still have that electrifying edge to it this time. Last time I let everything go for 9 weeks and the buzz was pretty couchlockish, especially the HB. The yield was great though!
So I know I took yet another little hit on weight/yield by harvesting earlier this time, but like I say I wanted a better high off of them. Hopefully I make it up in numbers.
9 more SS clones to cut, then the grilfs, and by the time all that's done the one AK plant that's in there should be finishing up. Although that one's going to go for a while since it's almost pure sativa. It looks like it's about 55 - 60% of the way through flower now.
Well, back to trimming for a while!

Well I've been trimming my ass off for days now. Finally have everything trimmed up and hung except for the GRILFs, which will get cut soon here as well. Actually half of the harvest is already jarred. I'm going to start moving the next crop into the flowering room here shortly.
A few things I've discovered during this crop:
I NEED A 600W BALLAST AND BULB!
I don't think I vegged long enough really. This was the first time I tried more numbers and less veg time, and I don't think I really like it honestly.
To spread the light across the 24 plants I had in there I had to raise the hood pretty far up, and that accounted for the fluffier buds this time. By the time I realized that the lamp was too far away it was already week 6. I lowered it, but it was a little too late. One good thing was that with my trimming this time I ended up with way less BS buds as I call em, all the buds were decent sized little nuggets.
I purposely harvested all the plants earlier this time so that the high would be more electrifying and not couchlock-ish. But of course that cuts back on yield again as well.
So I don't know what the total yield is going to be this time, but I'm sure I fell way short of my goal. But that's OK because I learned a lot of stuff, and I think I'm more knowledgeable after the experience. Well, that which doesn't kill ya, right?
With all that said, I smoked a bongload of the completely dry but completely uncured HB last night and the high was great. It's also sticky as a biatch. Almost hard to pack up! So I'm happy about the buzz. It WAS much more electrifying and in the head.
I harvested half of the SS early too, and the other half I harvested later to make up some on the yield, or lack thereof rather.
So I will post the total yield and pics of the buds once the other half of the SS's dry and everything cures for a week or so. Stay tuned!

Yeah the smoke is going to be probably the best I've grown yet, so that's a great thing! And the yield isn't going to be bad or anything, just not what I was hoping for I think. But we'll see soon enough.
The last 5 SS's yielded a bit more since they went longer, and that AK is going to yield out great for sure. I can't wait for that one!
I'm about to start whittling away on the GRILFs here tonight probably, and there's actually a decent amount of little top nugs on em so that's good. I'll probably just toss everything that's not solid little nugs, cause I don't even feel like messing with it!
But the best part is I have the next crop just waiting to go into flower, and these girls are all 3" tall with a near perfectly-even canopy. Well except for the Super Silver Haze which is like 2' now, but I know it'll stretch up to the height of the others anyway so that's actually good. So I don't really give a shit about what the yield was this time honestly. I've got plenty of primo smoke to last me 3 months until next chop, plus the hash too actually, and next harvest is going to be epic I'm sure! Gonna be 8 four-footers going bananas plus a table of smaller clones doing their thing as well. The clone table will be like 3-4 each of SS and HB.
Oh and here's a pic of a 20 gram hash bar I made out of the remaining hash by rolling it. Altogether I got 25 grams of this alcohol-extracted hash out of all my trim from last harvest. Not too shabby.

Hey man When I use my alcohl extraction it is super runny and hard to manage how did you get yours so nice and manageable? Did you add like a quarter of kief or what heh?

OK so basically once you soak your trim and strain it, take the resulting alcohol/hash liquid and put it into wide and shallow pans (I use baking dishes) with a fan blowing across them on medium. It took me a little over 24 hours straight to burn off the 1.75 litres of vodka that I used, so it's a long process but since there's only a fan blowing the electrical consumption is minimal as compared to using something like say a stove or hotplate to achieve the same effect. You just need to evaporate the liquid off fully. If you used grain alcohol as opposed to 100 proof vodka (which is what I used) the process should go a lot quicker.
Next, once the liquid has evaporated and the layer of 'sludge' (for lack of better words) is slightly tacky to the touch, you can take a putty knife or any similar object and start scraping it off of the dish. Just keep putting your scrapings in a pile as you get them. Some scrapings will be denser and more granular, some will be more viscous and almost like an amber honey. Just keep piling them together.
Then, when you're done gathering all your scrapings, put the pile between two pieces of wax paper and use a rolling-pin to squish the hash into a flat, round disc. If you really want to incorporate the different 'grades' of the scrapings together well to form a very consistent end product then just peel it off of the wax paper, roll it into a ball, and repeat the rolling-pin process again a time or two.
Once it's blended I just peel the top piece of wax paper off and let the disc sit out for a few days to finish drying out. Then you can peel it off the wax paper and start kneading it and rolling it into a bar or whatever shape you want. It WILL flatten out from gravity or whatever over time though, so it won't necessarily stay in whatever shape you put it in but you get the idea.
So there you have it. When I want to smoke some I just take a knife and trim off a little slice from the end and that's what I work with for the night. I then take that slice and, with a pair of scissors, trim little pieces off that I roll into balls and mix together with herb. This way the hash burns evenly throughout without clogging the bowl, and a bongload lasts forever this way.

Great actually, I just think one needs to invest in the right amount of veg time before flipping using this method. But if you veg a little longer it really makes the buds bigger overall with way less popcorn.

Yeah it kinda has a honey or almost a molasses smell to it. Very sweet and deep. Definitely a little strange...it's certainly not what I thought it would end up smelling like, but not bad either. Just.....different. Come to think of it maybe it has something to do with the fact that I use molasses in the last 2 weeks before harvest?

Thanks, yeah that definitely makes for some great hash. I only save the creme de la creme of the clippings, so most of the weight was already resin anyway I guess.

Sorry for the delay guys, I've been really sick lately with bronchitis or something and I just haven't felt up to getting on here. But as promised here are the results! Everything is itemized by strain/time harvested.
Hashberry (All): 59.50 g.
Early Super Skunk: 39.80 g.
Mid Super Skunk: 33.10 g.
Late Super Skunk: 34.80 g.

Total: 167.20 grams / 5.97 oz's.
I also got about a half ounce off of both of the grilfs combined, so nothing special but every bit counts I guess.
Also, I'm about to take down this monster AK47 plant that I threw in about 10 days after everything else last cycle. So depending on how you look at it the harvest either yielded 6.5 ounces or that plus the AK plant which is going to be around 2 ounces I think. All in all not bad, plenty for me, but I didn't hit my goal so I'll be continuing the saga until I do. I'm much more hopeful this round as compared to last - this time I have a tent full of monsters rather than a tent full of 2.5 week clones!
