I have a plant, it's not weed, just a plant i bought at the grocery store. It's a flower, but I don't know where else to find the answers. I cut off all of the leaves and just left 2 flowers with stems. I think my plant will die, am I right? It was 10 dollars, and i bought it yesterday. I want to know when will it wilt and die? Can it possibly survive? I am writing a book, this project is a part of it.DSC_0019.JPG

Please tell us the working title of your book-

I'd hate to waste my money.

The book is called "Too much Red and not enough green." It's about a crazy guy from the soviet union, who mutilates plants.
I get that the red things are leaves too so, it can still make food. Will it grow new leaves? How long do these things typically live does anyone know?

You can keep it alive according to Wikipedia:

In areas outside its natural environment, it is commonly grown as an indoor plant where it prefers good morning sun, then shade in the hotter part of the day. Contrary to popular belief, flowering poinsettia can be kept outside, even during winter, as long as it is kept frost-free. It is widely grown and very popular in subtropical climates such as Australia, Rwanda and Malta.

this guy has been growing his poinsettia for over 19 years.

Frankie Allison has been growing a poinsettia in his living room for 19 years. The plant stands more than 1.5 metres tall, measures more than 3.6 metres around and weighs more than 100 pounds.

"It just kept growing," said Allison, who lives in Halifax. "Pretty soon I won't be able to look out the picture window."

The remarkable plant holds a special place in Allison's heart and home because it belonged to his late wife, Maxine.

She won it Christmas Eve, 1996 in a call-in radio contest.

Three days later, she died suddenly of a heart attack. Allison says friends and family often remark that her spirit helps the plant grow.

Just for the record, someone above had posted that poinsettia (euphorbia pulcherrima) doesn't flower. The euphorbia genus is most certainly under the the Angiosperm (Magnoliopsida) class meaning it is a flowering plant. Though in that persons defense, a lot of spurge species don't exactly have the most obvious flower.
