What does your chamber look like? Just add some more perlite and water and keep misting it'll be fine. are you only misting the sides because you should mist the cakes too

its just a shotgun chamber, i mist the sides/top. you suppose to mist the cakes? i thought i read somewhere that that was a bad idea

Yeah you can lightly mist them the evaporation is good. And some people add a layer of wet vermiculite on top of the cakes and spray that when needed.

Dont mist the sides/tops. I read this on Shroomery, only mist the cakes and perlite if need be.

Keep misting the sides too... to keep up with all the water that's evaporating. You want there to be a good amount of moisture on the sides always because that shows you the humidity is good. misting the cakes is just to keep them moist and because evaporation makes mushrooms happy. Since you only have 3 cakes in there, keeping them close together will help the humidity around the cakes.

"mist the cakes and perlite directly....dont mist the sides or top of the tub....if done correctly the sides will have water on them anyways, from the "over mist"...if the water on the sides evaporates in a few hours, that means u have good FAE and the SGFC is in a good spot. If the moisture on the walls is still there after say 4-5 hours then something, somewhere is wrong with your FAE.

With 4-5 inches of moist perlite and the proper "natural air flow" in a properly made SGFC, ur humidity will be perfect."

Plus I hear the SGFC works best when its full of cakes

You're right. I only did the PF tek a couple times and not sure if the sgfc existed then so it was a different method with less natural FAE. and more cakes definitely work better with keeping the humidity.

Op did you do the tek to the T? might be your hygrometer

i would love to have a chamber full but im currently waiting for the rest to finish colonizing, the first 2 i did with the golden teacher spores are almost done they got a little bit thats left uncolonized and the other half pint B+ ones are all different all with 75 - 90% colonized and tbh ill probably be adding 1 - 3 in the next few days to the chamber

but anyways i only asked about the humidity cause its always cold in my room ive just been using a heater which seems to be working good it keeps the chamber nice and humid
