Defund Police

Your the one complaining about police power, which SHE gave to them. Now your just a liar. Poor white from Idaho.

Also you fail to explain how codified the public sector unions have become in the state legislature, which means you dont get it at all. In fact when Kate Brown allowed police not to disclose the name of the trooper whot shot Finnicum for 90 days as per Not usual state rules, it was Republicans quoted on the record saying they didnt vote Yes, because it was a shield law for cops. That was in 2017, lol.......

But who cares there hasnt been a sniff of Republican majority in Oregon for over 40 years. The topper is giving Oregon police tax money from the cannabis bill. That is 100% an Oregon Democrat solution, whoopsie.

So go ahead and blame Republicans, who literally havent done anything in state policy for 40 years.
Brown rocks. She'll figure it out.

Cut police budget, cut size of force. Do it legally. I don't see anything in the contract that specifies the size of a force cannot be reduced. This is exactly the time to RIF officers due to budget constraints. But you just want to continue to talk out your ass, so, carry on.

The largest problem is in Portland, not the state police. It's obvious that you want to rag on Brown but the best place to defund police is in the cities.

What is being discussed is shifting funding from police to other safety programs and stripping away much of the non-police duties from police so that they can do the job they were hired for. But that's too complicated for your ass to discuss. So, carry on.

Defunding police is about putting the right people on a call for help. Trained, unarmed responders will be replace police for non-criminal calls. This isn't rocket science but it does require reason.

San Francisco police won’t respond to non-criminal calls

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco officers will stop responding to non-criminal activities such as disputes between neighbors, reports about homeless people and school discipline interventions as part of a police reform plan the mayor announced Thursday.

Mayor London Breed said in a news release that on calls that don’t involve a threat to public safety, officers would be replaced by trained, unarmed professionals to limit unnecessary confrontation between the police department and the community.

more actions linked to defunding the police. Note that they all hold police accountable for their actions while reducing the scope of their job to focus on crime fighting rather than social services.

This kind of change was too long in the making. Thank You BLM.

Cities are defunding police.
  • In Minneapolis, a veto-proof majority of city council members pledged earlier this week to “begin the process of ending” the city’s police department, seeking to instead invest in a “new transformative model for cultivating safety.” What such a model will look like in the city remains to be determined.
  • In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a proposal to cut the police department’s budget and shift the money to programs to help “communities of color.” The mayor said the exact amount will be determined with the city council as part of the budget process.
  • In Los Angeles, the city council introduced a proposal to redirect at least $100 million to $150 million from the LAPD budget to disadvantaged communities and communities of color. The mayor expressed support and pledged additional funds to support the Black community.
  • In San Francisco, city supervisors and the mayor together said they were committing to redirect part of the police department’s budget to serve the Black community. The amount has not yet been determined.
Schools are cutting ties with police.

If you don't read the article you don't know the source.

Willingly ignorant or willingly complicit. Time is growing short.
Read all the propaganda you like I prefer legitimate news sources which is why as a lifelong Republican the right wing radicals forced me and my family to abandon the Republican party who now apparently opposes democratic principles
