Picture 1 and 2 is a Molybdenum deficiency in late flowering

This isnt what yours looks like bud,but its the only def. that shows up purple. It maybe that autos dont like too much of a temp drop at night.IDK.
One for a more experienced grower i think.Try putting it in the Marijuana problems forum.Im interested to find out what it is.

I posted in the auto section but yeah true mine dont look like that really, I'm sure its nothing to worry about! I trimmed all leaves that had white flecks, got the loupe out and could see the spider mite larvae all over the underside of the leaves, pretty sure i was on the brink of a massive infestation, more or less under control, noticed a few little white flies, killed a few, doesnt seem like a big.problem tho. More interested in finding or why some of my leaves look like they have been chewed on by a slug or snail....noticed a few beetles up here on rare occasion but not any slugs or snails, what else chews leaves lol? ! Pics coming soon

i finally harvested the automazars a few days ago, so they took around 12 weeks (sprouted 1st august) in total. i could have taken them earlier, but i misjudged the flush, had rain and bug issues.....still its given me some nicely ripe top buds with some slightly less mature lower ones so i hopefully will get a range of highs. picking a nug to grind up will literally be like pot luck in terms of heady vs couch lock hehe. so after the terrible (but well informed) decision to spray with neem dilute so close to flower, combined with the rain, higher night time humidity, a couple of the automazars had some bud rot. i decided there and then to harvest, even though they hadnt had much of their flush and had neem only a few days before. i cut away the bud rot and surrounding areas, trimmed and proceeded to hang to dry.

a lot of the nugs i wanted to inspect as carefully as possible so i took them off the plants and the ones that were clear of rot were placed into a shoe box, this shoebox was placed under the hanging plants in the cupboard to dry. my rh here in the daytime is currently around 50 - 60%, and i had a fan on facing a small opening in the cupboard door for ventilation. this plus the fact they are small plants meant after a few days they were starting to feel dry, so i jarred them, but in the closed jars theyre getting upto 70% humidity, so i leave them in the jars with the lids open til the RH lowers, then i can close the lid for longer periods. I believe i overdried my last plants and it led the to be quite crispy even during the cure. was still decent smoke but lacked smell and flavour.

been checking regularly for any signs of rot or mold, had to cut away another bit the first day of drying. i probably had to bin around half an ounce, including some previously looking beuatiful main cola parts. dammit! i noticed it early, within 2 days of noticing the top colas start to look weird so got lucky, saw the leaves twisting and curling on some sections, then realised they were super crispy and dry and brittle. thought it was a ph issue so added some ph adjusted water to the res while i researched, found out it could be rot, went digging and found some really fucked up bud at the lowest bud sites. it was hard to get to cos of the net and also the AMs had pretty dense foliage which i should have trimmed more of, earlier. i just thought being outdoors ventilation wouldnt be an issue, how naive! now i know that that one leaf that was sticking out lower down, which had lost its colour and vigour was an earlier sign of the rot and know for next time. i proceeded to trim the hell out of the NLB to ensure ventilation and to give bugs less places to hide....little bastards!

i weighed the nugs today while checking them individually for any mold or rot. no sign. i did find a few bug corpses and one weird thing like a little worm/larvae thing, bigger than spider mites but still really small, wrapped in a kind of silk coccoon....i thought it was mold but on closer inspection it wasnt.....gonna see if i can find out what it was... not too worried, i will check again daily and shake the buds over a tray to get any more cadavers or living bugs off the buds. i think the buds are almost dry in their current state i have around 50 grams of bud from the 3 autos.....much better than my previous (and first) grow i got 13g from 3 autos. lst training is the way forward with these.... pretty sure my next ones will yield me even more. the buds are losing the hay smell and starting to smell lovely, definitely a very sweet potent smell when i break up the nugs but still get hints of it just sniffing around in the jars.

i also went ahead and ordered some seeds. my NLB is going so well i wanted to try more Delicious seeds, and herbies were giving away a free cotton candy not long ago....so i ordered one of each of the following:

Ripper Grape Gum Feminised Seeds Info

After a long process of seed selection in the phenotype selected Canadian and with more potential, We worked long for annealing to one of our most productive indica lines. The plant resulting from such exquisite work is our most elavorada genetic “GRAPEGUM”. A variety of different character in complex fragrances and flavors of the spectrum allocated to a bright future with a quality amply demonstrated in his lush, shiny crystals of resin.
Chosen for its exceptional balance of multidimensional effect and intense sweet tangy. This distinctive blend of fruity flavors will become your best choice for everyday, since its effect is very tolerable and long in body and mind.

Dinafem Sweet Deep Grapefruit: again, looking for tasty weed!

Dinafem Sweet Deep Grapefruit combines two genetic strains which are appreciated for their extremely sweet and fruity aroma: a strain of Blueberry which is already well-known as it has been used in other strains such as Dinafem Blue Fruit or Dinafem Blue Widow, and a clone selected from Grapefruit, a variety that is known for its fruity taste, theoretically to grapefruit, although it reminds more of a sweet fruit like pineapple. This variety is very much appreciated in Canada and US.
Grapefruit is very well-known in America thanks to its taste of pineapple and sweet grapefruit, added to its strength, yield and its outdoor cultivating possibilities, which has greatly helped production in places like British Columbia, for example, where it has been used for commercial purposes.
The a result of this combination is an Indica-Sativa hybrid developed to boost its aromatic qualities to a maximum and provide a sweet, fruity, slightly acid taste.
Apart from these exceptional qualities in aroma or taste, this variety provides lush heavy harvests as its branches form very regularly, with short knots, which in turn give abundant flowering The dense structure of the flowers produces a greater number of buds than in plants with longer knots. Furthermore, the buds are very compact and numerous thick buds are produced on both the lower, longer branches as well as on the higher branches. This means that the calibre of the buds is relatively uniform, in other words, the smaller buds are larger than in most other varieties. This, and in the flowering speed, is where we can see the influence of the characteristic indica genotypes in this hybrid, whereas we can clearly see its sativa ascendancy in its aspect, in the psychoactive effects it produces -a physical and cerebral mixture- and in the complexity of its taste. Thus, apart from good hybrid vigour and bountiful flowering, which make it a highly productive and effective variety, we can appreciate its fruity taste of sweet berries.
The “Blue” influence is noticeable in the colour some of the plants acquire, violet, purple, reddish, more intense in outdoor harvests due to the colder temperature, as well as in the vigorous harvest, which multiplies quickly. For this reason, it is important to maintain the height of the plants under control at all times in indoor cultivation. Its strength is fairly high, combined with noticeable quantities of CBD, therefore producing a mixed effect.

Flowering: 55-65 days
Outdoor harvests: Until 15 October
THC: High (12% - 19%)
CBD: Medium
Production: Medium-high
Outdoor height: Up to 3 metres
Composition: Indica 80% Sativa 20%
Genotype: Grapefruit x Blueberry

and of course the free cotton candy. i have some small pots so i may grow them all next year, see if i like any in particular to go down on the favorites list...

Here it comes one of our most perfect and savory hybrids. So tasty and sensory, this variety amalgamates the sugary sweetness of candy and the softness of cotton. COTTON CANDY exploits the delicious properties of the best cannabis. The enjoyment of COTTON CANDY was made with time and patience.
Long time ago the DELICIOUS SEEDS breeder team got the challenge and began to work in our warehouse. The aim was to develop a plant with an enormous grow potential without neglecting the organoleptic features usual in DELICIOUS varieties; a plant with excellent performance both indoors and outdoors and in greenhouses, major producer of THC resin, easy to grow, and resistant to fungi, pests and stress.
COTTON CANDY was obtained by crossing a variety with higher genetic potential from South Africa, the POWER PLANT, with one of our best mothers, LAVENDER (SUPERSKUNK – BIG SKUNK KOREAN – AFGHANI HAWAIIAN). The outcome is a perfect plant that produces large and long buds as fox queues and acquires a lavender metal pitch in the sheets at the end of flowering.
Because of its relationship calyx-leaf, this plant is easy to manicure. It’s a variety with a so intense and pungent scent that gets heady just with smelling it, very rich in THC resin and with perfect organoleptic features. Welcome to the paradise of flavors and colors by COTTON CANDY

i have YEARS worth of grows to go.....really want to find my favorites strains, then find my favorite phenos, then grow the best fuckign weed in the world!

Time for some pictures! taken on 4/10/13 (Ams were just over 13 weeks from sprouting, NLB was/is around 4 or 5 weeks into flower)

purple much clearer in these pics... also some of the AMs u can see have the twisting leaves. NLB buds are starting to really thicken up mmm
20131004_141026.jpg20131004_141033.jpg20131004_141049.jpg20131004_141055.jpg20131004_141119.jpg20131004_141123.jpg

Pics taken 7/10/13

after havign bud rot issue with the autos im not taking any risks so i trimmed the NLB now shes looking mre beautiful thanever!

20131007_152211.jpg20131007_152217.jpg

trimmed well below the canopy, cut off any spindly buds that werent getting much light, loving how shes grown so far. a bit of upward leaf curling only very slighty since i trimmed, i believe due to not having enough leaves to transpire enough we have a few weeks of warm weather again so shes a tiny bit stressed without all her fa leaves all of a sudden but shes still looking fantastic.

some pics of the harvested AMs:

20131008_105724.jpg20131008_105746.jpg20131008_182554.jpg

they literally were almost crispy to the touch within a few days so i jarred them and now im constantly watching the humidity to keep em happy. i recommend everyone use hygrometers, mine has turned out to be so much more useful than i expected and im going to get a few more to be able to double check. plus im gonna have a lot more jars once i harvest the NLB!!!! mmm mm mmmmmm

so i know i have a long seeds list. thats not even all of them, thats just a starting point! any favorites from the list? anyone know which would work best outdoor? oh yes and please, out of the seeds i have which would YOU commit to the biggest pot and scrog net (leaving the others to grow in small pots: i will probably germ them early august so they dont grow too big....not concerned with yield of the small pot plants, just want to see if they are any good)

some of the NLB leaves look like they have been munched on by something, i think its probably moths or beetles at night time, ive looked around for hiding slugs or snail but havent seen anything like that. still got a few spider mites knocking around so am squishing them and their eggs, going at it with neem regularly too. luckily the weathers drier and its not soooo late in flower, i can still get away with using it every now and then but need to get rid of them before the weather cools down and gets more humid again. the cool and humid nights are currently probably helping keep their growth slow, definitley a lot less than before. prevention is better than cure of course, i thought i was preventing with regular neem but need to change my approach by mopping floor with bleach solution regularly. also i read somewhere not to lay plastic (mylar) on the floor as it can lead to moisture build up, which could have also caused the but rot as after it rained, i had to pull back the mylar from the floor to let the water dry out...... and i couldnt pull it all up so there are possibly wet patches still under there. plus the little plastic box im using to catch the run off from the NLB is probably not the best idea either as it occasionally has sitting water in it. but i dont want the water to spill all over the place....what the fuck do i do lol??? its not exactly easy to change the box but im gonna give it a go soon, maybe keeping a couple of clean boxes in rotation will help...

anyway, gonna go eat catch yall later!!!!!! (any questions or feedback is all more than welcome...dont be shy!)

love them colors on them plants, purples are beautiful:) nice job
heyyy thanks j6s6u6! in the end i think it was the low night time temps that caused the purpling.... was fantastic to watch them grow :)

i return after a winter of smoking my homegrown, i didnt want to smoke report before the buds were dried and cured...
please note.....in combating the bud rot i ignored all advise and used a diluted neem spray even in mid/late flower...im sure this affected the flavour of both strains. had to be done, fucking spider mites were all over them and all other measures were not really helping.

first things first....the NLB i had to chop early. the bud rot was spreading and i sadly had to cut some of the biggest fattest fucking buds i have ever seen....i almost cried. on occasions i apologised to the plant. it was sad. the rain really got us here at the end of season, and i ordered bud rot stop but ended up chopping her down before it arrived. so yeah, she got chopped early. the smells that come out during growth are wonderful. unfortunately i only got around 15g of dried bud from her in the end, but hey, im not complaining. i will complain however, that due to the early harvest and possibly neem overdose i was struggling to enjoy the smell or flavour of the smoke. the high was ok, nothing spectacular, but after trying a friends extremely well grown knock out green, and not really feeling all that knocked out i believe my tolerance has increased a lot. not that i smoke a lot. 2 spliffs a day, but it never knocks me out anymore...... thinking of getting a vaporizer to change it up a bit heheh....anyway the smoke was good enough, the flavour in early cure was not very nice, but it got better towards the end of the stash.

Automazars were a decent yield (compared to my first grow anyway...) the 3 combined (after cutting mouldy bits away and again binning the largest colas due to internal rot, i still got around 40g of clean dry bud from the three autos. the taste and smell was kinda hashy, a little spicy even. i have to admit i didnt enjoy it much either lol. ill tell you one thing......once dried, the automazar buds were dusty as hell, i got a shit load of kief in the bottom compartment of my grinder by the time i had finished smoking it all. the high was good, a bit stoney but not too heavy. i have shared my automazar with several highly experienced tokers, and they were all surprised at how high they got from my homegrown hehehe...... one was even surprised at my yield....which i suppose wasnt terrible for a 2nd balcony grow. decent weed......flavour possibly again affected by late spraying of neem, and little to no flush (by the time i started flushing, temps had lowered and they were finishing so they hardly drank any of the flush; by flush i mean i put plain water in the reservoir.... not literally flushing. they were in coco and was using hesi coco nutes. would have preferred to flush a bit longer but it was at high risk of losing more bud to the evil rot. what a whore) ill put a proper smoke report in the proper section and ill link it here once ive done it :)

final thoughts, both strains grew very nicely, if there werent so many more strains to try i would have no hesitation in growing these again.... while the automazar is low on the odor scale, i prefer tasting what i smoke, and i prefer it to taste nice...... so im looking at think different or blue automazar for my next foray into dutch passion seeds......

soooooo now ive just germed my 3 auto seeds pineapple punch and im very excited, the famous rain of northern spain has eased off and we are set for some lovely weather, hence ive started them earlier than last year. 24 hours in water, tapped em, they sank. around 32 hours in a moist kitchen paper towel, inside a half sealed baggie in a dark warm room and the roots are nicely out. soaked some coco jiffys in just a bit of hesi root complex and powerzyme for about 10 mins, squeezed water out and sowed dem seeds. my standard germination procedure and so far...100% success! (ps dont forget if using jiffys to pierce holes in the mesh net towards the base so the roots can get out of them easily....only had a problem with one plant, not being able to get the roots thru the mesh but better safe than sorry!)

thanks for tuning in....ill be starting the pineapple punch grow journal soon, and look forward to all u gits chipping in :p ( i mean in in the nicest way)

hasta luego fumados!
