Dense Ripe Buds

I have a crop nearing harvest. It shows lots of trichomes, like snow, still clear but I want this crop to “be all it can be” and would like suggestions on how to make the buds more dense and the best way to ripen them. If I can make the buds more dense this batch may have NBB (nothing but buds) tops 8”-10” long and 2” thick. Currently it’s buds ever where, some 1½ inch long. If I can make it work I will post pictures.

How long till harvest, canna boost with pk13/14 would make your bud fill out and increase your yield but u must flush the last 2 weeks to remove the chemicals so u may be past that point, I was told not so long back that given your plant 24hour dark before the chop also increase bud size and strengh but have never given this a go maybe worth a try on one plant to compare with another for next crop maybe, hope this helps

I am not sure how long I have got because I don't have the start date, the flower triggers, or the flower time. I can assume the trigger light is about 12/12 because the clones in the greenhouse were budding even with my neighbors yard lights interrupting. I got these Wild Thailand clones in late march and they were six to ten inches. I grew them in dirt because I had lost the last three tries at hydro although one batch budded early for a minuscule crop. I held them in my green house while I discuss converting one of our rooms with my wife. That took longer then I thought and I now have two five foot in pots, two four footers in smaller pots which I root bound intentionally to keep them smaller, and eight clones I took in late July, all under 13 on and 11 off because my indoor Veg space is not ready and there was a security problem with keeping the clones outside. I did leave one runt clone in the greenhouse.
Thats the history. Currently they are on 13 on 11 off with 1000 watts HPS and 240 watts T-5 from the side. They just started to have a noticeable smell, other then plant, about 3 days ago. I looked an hour ago and I still don't see any trichomes changing from clear yet but I am just today seeing some brown hairs on some bottom buds and the tips of some hairs on middle buds turning brown. The buds on the top nearest the light don't appear to be turning yet.
Can you tell me how long I have to go? This is my first grow to make it this far and I want to finish properly.
Update on the plants: I just transplanted the clones, the large ladies were starting to show lighter fan leaves, and the soil was dry to the touch so I mixed some flower nutes, a little molasses, and some super thrive vitamins, all 1/3 strength and will water and feed today, after the mix matures.

Well it depends how close to the end you are... Might I suggest some molasses to sweeten them up along with cutting the light to 14 hours of darkness.

not looking to flavor it. It's the first batch of this stuff and I don't know it's base flavor. I did add molasses to chealate the nutes. I want longer light for now to promote growth until I am within one week, then I will cut it.

The plants swell up later in harvest because of less light.... The female plant instinctively produces more and more THC as it nears the end of the season because it is desperately trying to be pollinated... thats why it produces big buds, to catch the male pollen from the air. by going to 14 hours of darkness for say the last 3-4 days, then complete darkness for a day, the buds will generally swell in a last ditch attempt to be pollinated before reaping time.

or they will herm as a last ditch attempt for pollination. but no matter its time to pull anyways at that point. people get so scared of plants herming but i say if its the last week of flowering who cares it wont seed (unless you have a perpetual grow, then your fucked)

So when would I do this? After I see lots of brown hairs, cloudy trichomes, and such, or before? As I said, I do not know if I have one week left or six. Next time I will but this is my first full harvest. When do I cut hours?

It's impossible to tell u a time what you need is a magnifying glass 30x, look at the trichomes what I go for is 60%-70% amber trichomes That way u keep the nice smoke but have good strength with it, other people my say different on the % but then it goes down to how you like your smoke. If you have cloudy trichomes I would already be flushing the soil getting rid of all the chemical nutes if u have used any not good smoking tha shit. What I would say is getting experience is the best way of learning. Hope this helps

I will be doing Shooting Powder(helps with bud layering making them bigger)with the 50 degree regular watering
treatment the last 3 weeks of flowering to
tighten up the buds and to bring out the very dark purple/black
out in my Black Dominas.
