Determining Flowering Day

When exactly do you start counting flowering? When pistils first appear or when they really start coming out the top?

The day you see your first pistils is day 1 of flowering.

Sometimes it can take up to two weeks under 12/12 to see actual buds forming..... I suppose it's up to the grower to decide.
