diagnosing the problem with photos

Hi,

This is my first time growing and think I may have a problem with this plant. It is being grown in 50% 'Miracle Gro' Nutrient enriched compost (feeds up to 6 months) 50% Perlite. I'm aware now that this was not a very good idea but i'm trying to make the best out of what I have. The plant has been in flowering stage under HPS 600w in a grow tent for about 1 week now and before this it was grown under CFL lights for 2.5 months. I flushed it the other day but think I should ask advice. A few of the large leaves have turned yellow and a lot of the stems are red

the red stems look like its really short on nutrients or they are getting locked out. the yellowing at the bottom shows nitrogen is not there or being locked out. maybe check the runoff ph as well.

the red is coming from a sulfur deficiency.. since sulfur is available at almost all pH levels, you probably have lockout issues.
water with distilled water, and then check runoff. and amend soil as needed. good luck

Have repotted it in a bigger pot as I could see roots coming out the drain holes. will try the distilled water next time i water it.

Why would you flush it? If you seriously flushed it you might have washed out too many nutrients. Repot to a larger pot and give it basic nutrients and I'll bet it comes around.

Those leaves that are mostly yellow I would trim off.

in hindsight I shouldn't have flushed it as thought it could be getting too much of something from the Nutrient enriched compost. I have ordered some Nutrients online but don't think they will be with me till Monday. Would it be worth giving it a different feed before then? (one that I could pick up at a garden centre, or I have a plant feed called 'Baby bio')

wait til your nutes come, it needs some nitrogen, dont water them for a few days, cause your flush def over watered them. They should come back around

You should go buy a potting soil that is geared towards growing MJ. I know it seems like you already know this, but the MG stuff you have is going to give you problems. I'd say go out and buy two decent 10$ bags of soil such as Roots Organics or FFOF and then cut that 50% with something like FFLW and that plant would be way happier than adding any nutrients to the mix is going to make it. Also, are you checking the PH of the things you are putting into this plant?
