Did I flush too soon? pics attached

I will try to sum this up.

Flowering room is roughly 2.5x4... and has 2 150W HPS lamps (although the 2nd one wasn't added until half way through the grow... the plants become much more bushier then I thought, since I did 0 pruning... and I needed more light)... I am only growing 2 plants at the moment. The other plant had all kinda problems from heat stress (it got too tall).

Grow was going great, very healthy... I *believe* this is an indica strain, so I assumed an 7-9 week harvest date. I think my mistake was assuming this, instead of looking at the plant itself to figure out how mature it was... but this is my first grow!

At week 6, I started giving only water, expecting an 8th week harvest... I am watering roughly once a week... I think I used too big of a pot (5 gallon), another mistake I think!... so, as expected, the leaves started yellowing... but the bud didn't seem to progress... at least not to my untrained eye. It seems like they are not very dense and I have a feeling this is because they were no where near ready to be flushed, but I have no clue now... so my problem is that this is week 8, and I am not really seeing any amber trichomes, but the pistils are getting pretty brown and the bud seems to have just stopped developing, the pics may seem like the bud is dense, but I think the pictures may be misleading... the pistils, as shown in the pics, are browning. Should I start back on nutes or just wait it out?... I don't think the buds had a chance to really swell... but again, first grow, so I have never really dealt with the plants themselves. Now the lower leaves are starting to die, which according to my research is expected when flushing... so I am in a panic mode, I don't want to harvest too early or too late... I am looking for a more sativa-like high... I am seeing some cloudy trichs (using 100x scope, waiting for a 30x to be shipped)... the 100X magnifies too much in my opinion, I can see like <10 trichomes at a time, so I have no idea how I can get a 'percentage' off of that unless I look at every leaf of every bud :P... but browsing around between diff buds, I am seeing probably 60% cloudy, 40% somewhat clear/a little cloudy... and I have yet to see one amber... I assume it will be obvious?... do you think it is just because there are so many bud sites (0 pruning) that it is just 'spacing out' its growing energy to all of the buds, which is just creating smaller buds everywhere?

Any help would be appreciated! Hopefully everyone will say harvest NOW!... then I could have a 4/20 harvest ;-)

I'd say you've got a couple of more weeks to go, 150 watts doesn't mature weed as fast. You need some potash fertilizer to get the buds to swell up at the end. Get some molasses and add a tablespoon to a gallon of water and water with that from now on. IMHO they look pretty good for just a 150 watts.

I am still a newbie, so this is more of a question than an answer.

The stems to nearly all of the fan leaves have a purple tinge to them. Would this suggest a nitrogen diff? Obviously you said you're flushing, so I just wanted to know if that is bad, good, to be expected?

give them at least 2 weeks longer.u can continue to flush that whole time if you want.give it some molasses(it wont affect the flush)1 tbs per gallon of water.a good flush just ensures good clean nice tasting smoke.as well let the plant dry out before you chop to the point that the leaves start to droop slightly, this will speed up your dry and cure a little bit.nice plant and good luck with the upcoming harvest. :) happy 420

no, it's just getting old, they color up in the last few weeks if it's in their genetics.

Thanks for the quick responses! Glad to see it is nothing extremely major! I will be getting some molasses!

I assume if I continue to flush, the leaves will continue to yellow... will they eventually start dying off (like the few that are starting to wilt in the pictures)? Should I be cutting the leaves off as they die?
