Did I just make a big mistake?? Stealth Grow Cabinet on ebay

I just bought a grow cabinet on ebay awaiting shipment. It was tempting because it claims to be completely silent and light tight, everything assembled with a drip hydro bucket and exhaust fans, cfl. I live with my parents so it's gotta be stealth. I just don't know if this thing could even grow a head of lettuce:cry:. If anyone feels like checking this thing out it's made by buddies-hydroponics and it's the single-site cabinet priced at $199 on ebay. Can someone please go look at it and tell me if it's a total scam or if I can make some use of it. Thanks in advance.

Really any kind of grow cabinet will work, but almost none are completely light tight...til after some slight renovations, so I am sure it will be awesome

Yup you made a huge mistake unless your folks ate cool with you growing. You do realize its their life that will be affected right? If you don't already have one, get a lock on the door to the room it will be grown in. That is a tiny bit of protection for them. As for the actual item, like already mentioned a link would help to make sure your getting your monies worth.

will its a good setup. the only thing i see that should be upgraded is the lights. 1 14w cfl wont do shit for your plant,
Go to home depot get a Y socket so you can conect 2 lights to 1 socket then change the bulbs to atleast 23w cfls each
This will speed up the growing rate of your plants and will be really benificial

No cfl bulbs are fine from moisture, just dont get them wet, 2 100w equivelant cfls would be great tho there the 23w ones should be about 7 bucks for a 2 pack
They dont give off a lot of heat so you should keep them any where from 2 to 4 inchs from your plant, i keep mine almost touching the plant half inch away at most
but i dont have temp problems

lol youre gonna want more than 2 cfls for 1 plant.
yea for flowering, but for veging in a small enclosed space 46w of cfl will be fine, it wont be the best but it will do.
for flowering you should have around 6 23w cfls. depending on your skills you could yeild anywhere from a quarter ounce to 2 ounces

It seems like a good deal to me for the most part, but I too would definitely upgrade the lights. I think even a 250w hps setup would be more effective than the cfl that comes with it, with mot too much heat to deal with. Venting and odor control is going to require some thought as well, and definitely put a lock on this and on your door in order to protect your fam should the worst happen. best of luck!
