Did I super crop right?

Also do they pick themselves back up and heal or do you have to pick them up and help them heal? if you have to pick them up how long do you leave them bent for? until a knuckle forms?

depends on how bad they got damaged.... If they can not right themselves then they will end up like a tie down. I like to leave them over night then straighten them back up with a straw and electrical tape. Cut the straw to size and then slit down one side... if it is a larger straw then the straw tension is strong enough itself to hold the stem up. If the stem 'falls' through the slit, then use electrical tape to keep the straw from opening up.

Perfect just leave em be and they will be fine! Marijuana is a truely amazing plant and will recover from much worse than that. :-)

oh I am aware of how resilient marijuana is. I threw some seeds in a pot outside, they sprouted with no attention, It has frosted multiple times outside and the tope of the soil frozen to the touch and a couple seedlings are still standing will no I'll appearance! Crazy plants.

Alrighty, well if they don't seem to pick themselves up enough I will try the straw thing

I had to super crop because these plants were in 12/12 light since they were planted in the dirt, so they started pre flower way early. This is only my second grow and also my first 12/12 grow.

Well I didn't know it was wayyyy too late to top the plants and I pretty much ended up lopping off my cola LMAO!
Here is an example of how much I set back the colas...

Here is The top of one of the plants
DSCN4578.jpg
Here is another bud on the same plant (way further along than the main cola lol I fucked the colas so bad)

DSCN4577.jpgDSCN4579.jpg

So they pretty much went crazy and bushed out upwards. Instead of forming two main good looking lead tops, if you look those two leads are there but hidden by ass loads of lateral branching. Here is a better view of exactly what I am talking about.

The lines are the Lead branches

Here are more examples of the tops going crazy

So now the top buds are barely forming while other buds down lower already formed and started throwing out pistils. Also you can see how skinny the top stems are because they are fairly new.

Does anyone think the colas will catch back up to the res of the plant or will they never be as big as they would have been now? The guy I talk to said they will never produce to full potential now, they might get big but not as big as they could have gotten.

Also will the super cropping help plump up the under developed colas quicker when they heal?

I checked on my girls today and the cropped stems are bending back up toward the light.

Also what happens when a stem actually splits when it is being bent? Will it heal just fine or will it have Ill effects on the branch?

It will heal and form a ball-shaped elbow at the split. As long as it's not split completely in half it should be fine.

Hell, I've even been supper cropping & didn't mean 2 but split a few stems completly in two!! I didn't think they would make it back from that at all!! But I just taped them up with some eletric tape, & now there doing just fine! When there out in the woods, deers & other animals go/brush by um & bend/break branches here & there. And there just fine. had it happen a few outside grows I had, & they turned out better then the ones I myself supper- cropped,lol... ;) the "only" reason I brought my grows indoors, is because all the dang theives!! I would do all that work, put my blood, & all my time & money into my grows, & someone else would get the reward!! Never again!! ;)

Here's a little update, I never bent them back up because i am limited on vertical space, So I left them bent over and they just started gorwing back upward after they formed a knot.

They kicked it into high gear after I cropped them They are just spitting out flowers everywhere they possibly can

DSCN4681.jpg Look at all those damn bud sites on the top of the plant....That's what happens when you pinch a 12/12 from seed too late into it's life.

It ruins the top cola and then they go crazy!!
