I bought 100 seeds of Northern Light feminized seeds instore in Netherlands.

As Im a noob I didnt bother looking much at the seeds, but I noticed these seeds are a fair amount smaller than regular seeds I see online - and the germination is only about 50% for me (I've done 10 so far)

Could be Im doing something wrong but this does not feel good and I paid almost 500 euro for these seeds :(

Tell us more.
We'd love to tell you if you were doing it right or wrong, if we knew how you were doing it.

I'm finishing up some northern light from royal queen seeds. I bought 5 fem seeds. 2 of the 5 are still with us. 2 failed to germ and the other didn't last more than a week.20171222_174816.jpg
Should be some good smoke. Short and stout like a true indica. Enjoyed growing it but germ rates were bad.

What popping method did you use? Soak in a cup for 24-48 hours and then a wet napkin until they pop a root?

I had always thought Royal Queen was a good company. Is it not?
They are just a distributor. They get seeds from all kinds of breeders and resell them. So there's no way to know how old those seeds are that you bought...

However Northern Lights seeds tend to be a little on the small side. I've grown Northern Lights many times and that is always been the case

R.Q. is a breeder stupid.........look at the website!

"Royal Queen Seeds is amongst the fastest growing cannabis seed companies in Europe. After building up many years of experience in growing cannabis seeds in the Netherlands, we decided to launch our own line of cannabis seeds and are now able to offer you quality feminized, autoflowering and medical seeds at a good price."

I stand by my initial statement.......

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

Retail seeds are extremely tiny compared to seeds you see in bags you buy on the street.

RQS are decent. Not amazing. There germination rates vary from great to crap. Like many bigger companies they hit and miss. The quality of the finished product... pretty Dutch. Like greenhouse or Barney farm. Often weak inbred mongrels with no vigour or disease resistance. But if you like inlined semi homogenous slightly above average Dutch rubbish with a few newer US strains that are hyped up... Go with Royal Queen seeds.

My opinion and experience growing out about 15 x 5 packs of seeds. Mostly gifted so may have been older stock. Still I rate them above Barney farm and greenhouse. As for how long I've been growing cause I'm such a noob. Started 1992... Super Sativa Seed Club anyone?

Obviously its strain dependent but you will probably find grown indoors under intense light your seeds will be smaller than vs grown outside in a decent climate of course think the extra solid indoor buds puts more pressure on seeds as they form as its more dense buds etc i bet they probably breed indoors that plus genetics may be why you got small seeds
