Did these guys just sell me a used PH meter?

I bought a Milwaukee PH600 and it looks like there was storage solution residue in the cap as can be seen here.

I called the company and one of their guys said they all have that.

What's going on here? The button doesn't work properly either.

Same experience here. It's the storage/cleaning fluid. The button issue is common as well. All pH testing pens are garbage. Just the way it is. Even my fancy blulab big dog is in need of constant attention. Get 2. Calibrate often, compare, hope and pray

I called Milwaukee directly and they said it's normal and the units ship like that. I guess you're right, they're basically garbage. I use the drops to confirm my readings too. I went through a bunch of China Yellows (as I call them) and I thought this Milwaukee was going to be a quality item. It's pretty shit to be honest lmao..

shoulda went with Milwaukee MW101. had mine for 6 years, no issues. and you can replace the probe if needed.

That's actually exactly what I was looking for, in the exact price range I was willing to spend. I'm surprised I didn't come across this thing while doing research.

milwaukee rep told me to rinse after every use in white vinegar and store the probe in RO.

i think i've had to calibrate just twice in 6 years.

IMG_3497.PNG This one cost $25 and it's 2 years old, calibrate every few weeks. I've bought and trashed them all, last two were blue lab, so I'm done wth the $100 ones ......

my bluelab pen was purchased 14 months ago still working good, it requires that you hydrate it in kcl for a day before first use and a calibration every couple months or less, but in general ph is delicate and a pita to get it right, i also use drops for confirmation and will be getting a second meter for that as well

I just want to elaborate that I don't really take care of my meter and lots of times it get left out and they don't get cleaned much other than a fresh water rinse. As I've said before, I drive em like I stole them :).
