Difference in veg between 400W HPS and 2x250W MH?

I just got a bargain on 2 250W metal halide lights so me and my flat mate are gonna set up a veg and flower room with his 400W hps. Im just wondering how much difference metal halide lamps make in veg. Hence the question what difference will i see in growth between 400 watts of hps and 500 watts of metal halide? Cheers

aside from a hundred more watts that can cover more turf(1 light on each side), the mh puts out a blue spectrum light which plants love in the veg cycle.

hps(which is all i have so far) has more red in its light which is great for flowering.

if you have both your probably good to go.

im only working with a hps and they grow fine, as you may already know,but have no mh as of yet, so i dont know.

there are alot of people on this site who have beat this topic to death in many, many, threads. look around this forum awhile and youll get your answer
