different Auto's

Is Anyone familiar with Dr Greenthumbs Iranian Auto Flower. I have grown it for about three years, and I have a decent program going. I'm quite happy with it, but I haven't grown other auto's to compare them to. Also I am budding them inside for the first time now. I put a couple in with a bunch of Freedom 35's (Also from Dr Greenthumb.) That I am checking out. I am hoping they will be a good indoor strain. If anyone has knowlage about either one of these two strains I would be interested in any info or opinion you might pass on. Thanks.004.jpg005.jpg006.jpg015.jpg Pic 1 is some IAF clones. Pic 2 is a couple IAF parents on the right. Pic 3 is The Freedom 35 grow at two weeks into bud.Pic 4 is an f-35 that went into bud at 2 or 3 weeks frm seed under 24 hrs of light. go figure. I think maybe its a new strain and not totaly stable. Anyhow, Any comments?

I don't have any experience with those strains but you have some nice looking plants there. Too bad you can't place some Mylar around your grow. You have some light spread going on.

Exellent observation Shineon, Years ago I had 3ft sq window screens that I coverd with white paper. Then I could stand them up around the plants. It worked very well,But became a pain in the ass, Mostly because of design. Each fall I clear out the room to clean and spray. Then I make whatever changas I can think of. This year I will definitly take your advise to heart. Thanks for the reply.

this iranian isnt a true autoflower ? is it a once in a while trait or can it be stabilized ? i ask because you said clones and parents and that ive heard that its a non ruderalis auto ? if it is so it would be amazing to get a stable auto out of the bunch f-35 never heard of but the iranian auto <~~~ just those words brings back outlandish memories of high yielding auto's that have a knock down drag out buzz just what i've heard anyway please give me all the juicy details never had a chance to get my hands on these beans always sold out

Your correct tecdc911. It;s not a true ruderalis. I think I remember reading that Dr greenthumb said he would never dumb down a good afghanie by crossing it with a ruderalis. I don't wish to speak for someome else, and I reserve the right to be wrong. But that is my understanding. Here is why IU like IAF. As long you keep it at 24hrs of light,It stays in veg. when you cut the light back a couple hrs it switches to bud. not 12-12. Something like 18-6. It allows alot of light durring veg. what I' doing now is,Getting my first run of clones started. then in a few weeks I will start another round. then repeat, repeat,However many times. About the 1st or 2nd week of april They can go outside and will trigger right off. in about 45 days they will be ready to harvest. Then repeat, repeat. Your also correct about the yeild and smoke. Big dense buds, very dense. and exellent kick ass smoke. last week My wife was given some indoor grown white widow and cheese auto to try. she said it was great but the IAF was more potent and better smoke. I will keep mine posted with pics. I usually I order my IAF seeds in dec or jan and have no problem

As far as the freedom 35's go they are new,but interesting. they can be harvested in 35 days. the tri's are amber and the smoke good. However according to the doc, If you go to 40 day they develope further, and improve. lso you can veg to almost finish height before switching to bud,Because they have very little stretch. If so they sound good. I am two weeks into bud now,So we will see what happens in about 25 days. Oh. I was able to get some clones from them. they are still a little week but I am carefully nursing them along. very excited. If anybody knows more about these strains I'm all ears. Thanks

35 days of flower or from seed / clone new growth if you clone then cut it back to 18/6 it would be the same as 12/12 from seed ?

ok so what im gettin at if flower was induced as soon as root took and new leaves started then at the switch it would be 40 days ? and what would the potential yield be? or would a veg be needed?

and the dinafem widow is :wall: definatly a wig splitter in my hands this is also one that isnt a true auto in many of its pheno's as well as the dinafem original amnesia auto the breeder says 12/12 is needed to regulate size but i beg the differ 1-2 out of 5 need help to fully flower from what ive experianced you can get some monsters out of these makes me wonder if i could keep a mother you sir have got my wheels spinning

Ok Please keep in mind I am no expert, but I am happy to share my understanding. The freedom 35's are advertised to be ready to harvest at 35 days from seed. The clones are something I am doing on my own. I have read about problems of buding sporaticly. I have one that triggered at 24-0. But they say they will stay in veg as long as they have 24 hrs of light, so I am hopefull about the clones. The Iranian auto's seem to have a veg period outside then trigger on their own. Inside you keep the at 24-0 then cut back the light to trigger. I haven't done experiments to see what the trigger point is,But I think I read as much as 20 or more hrs. Just some dark time. The flower time for the IAF is advertised to be 45 days from when you cut the light back. I think 90 days from seed outside. After the 35 grow I have now is done (about 30 days) I am putting in the IAF that I am preparing now. We will see how they do. It seems to me some of these strains are not all that stable and produce many diferent pheno's. I think if you keep them at 24 hrs and they don't trigger, then clone them and see what happens. you should be able to hold them. Regulating the size may have to do with stretch. Just a guess. Now my head is spinning. I will be interested in anything further you may present. Later.

... Freedom 35 $150. for 10 beans ,a photo, Dr.Gruber has a F35 journal on this site. Ready to harvest in 45 days after flip from seed, clones will harvest a little sooner.Good yield for a quick plant, good smoke report.....Can autos be vegged under 24 hrs. light? I heard they bloom when root hits bottom of container? Have 28 day old chronic auto I would love to get some clones from.

you have to force a feminized plant to hermi colloidal silver works ok its sprayed foliar gebberic acid from what ive heard works almost always you have to stress a plant in a last ditch effort it sprouts male sacks if allowed to pollinate its self then its a fairly stable copy thats feminized if its allowed to pollinate others then its a feminized cross for true auto flowers i have had bad experiences with foliar feeding making them hermi if the mix is to hot and shock them on my current grow i made a booboo and got 3 seeds mixed up when planting a barneys sweet tooth auto, a pineapple express auto and a blue himalya diesel auto so what i thought was a sweet tooth i was foliar feeding super thrive b-1 red to at half strength was actually my pineapple once it was large enough to know it was to late so i went with it fail epic fail but on the bright side it can be daddy and i will have many pheno's that will take its fruity flavor and small stature there is a few posts on this forum that explain it better then me

i do know from my grows a wide container is better on a ruderalis cross they have large roots that grow sideways for the harsher conditions like thin layers of soil that are hard to utilize a short season has adapted to it ive had many root bound in small containers that still flower roughly when the breeder stated it would and the auto's that dont usually need a push my white widow now is going on 2 months only showing preflower has been showing for 3 weeks now and still just veg growth only lower branches have started tell tale zig zag stem but still only preflowers ive had them start from 20-60 days on there own and let a few of the same strain go for about 4 months before i started 12/12 ive tried to ask people about there bloom times but honestly im still a noob to this forum and there for treated like one there have been a few people that were kind and offered words of advice but in all honesty this isnt a subject ive been brave enough to talk about untill it was decriminalized but it doesnt mean in any way im new to growing or havent done my research :)

Thanks for that tecdc911. I am very interested in this subject but I dont have other people to draw real knowlage or expieriance from. I have seen what you call "need a push." It's hard to know what a true autoflower is. sooner or later I will get this done. the problem is knowing what has been done. My first attemt I think will be the iranian auto and an indica like auroa. I have both of these going now. I read somewhere that you can stess them into herm by letting them go past ripe for awhile. the artical said in a couple weeks they will develope the banana like flower, and pollen. here is a pic claimed to be produced that way.Hermy3.jpg

a true auto will flower at 24 hrs of light at a given day it is time based / growth usually around the 2nd to 3rd set of nodes it flowers mine under cfl take about 25-30 days to start throwing out pistils most breeders say 17 days for male and 21 for female to begin preflower/flower

if you force a hermi then you know for sure that your seeds will have time to fully develop the plant unless you can force it with nutes is usually said not to be smoked but on the bright side you can force a hermi as soon as it starts to flower and the male parts dont take nearly aslong to ripen so you could just take the pollen bag it up and use a q-tip is what i normally do to put it on the buds you want to have seeds that way your whole plant isnt just seeds
