Hi riu! I'm going too be putting together a small indoor tent grow and am leaning towards led but don't want too drop 1500$ on a panel that will be worth my while. Here is the tent I'm buying its 36inch tall* 30inches long* 18inches wide.I'll be doing a 1 or maybe 2 plant max scrog in it. What I need is someone took point me in the way of a shop online that I can buy diodes n drivers n heat sinks n such too do my own diy panel. N also how many watts worth of led would I need too effectively grow in that space and I plan too make it a full spectrum so I don't have too fiddle with switching things out just reset timer. Recommended kelvins n such as well would be awesome and also any info on cobs n if they would be more efficient for my needs. Here's a link too the tent I'm lookin at. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H2ULDR0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3NYE73641VNA5

Diodes would get the job done but COBs could do the job as well. 6 CXB3070 AB @ .7 amps on an hlg-120h-c700 would provide over 1000 PPFD, use only 150 watts and cost way less than $1500.

Your going to need a bigger tent, 3 ft. tall isn't going to cut it, even if you scrog. Remember, you'll need some space between the plants canopy, and the light. Depending on your choice in lighting, you'll need to keep the light 12"-24" above the plant. Good luck.

And also what kelvine are the CXB3070 AB cause of they are 5000k I'm guessing I can get the same thing but in 2700k or 3000k n get 12 of them, 6 of each kind n 2 of the drivers or whatever else u posted. And make it veg n flower switchable

And also I think 3 feet tall will be plenty for a small scrog. Panel will be basicly at the top of the tent all the time and my pot is going too be no taller than maybe 8 inches and fills almost the whole bottom of the tent besides maybe 6 inches on each end and 2 or 3 inches from the sides of the tent

I recommended the 3070s at .7 amps due to the low height. Spaced out well could probably get within 6-8 inches or so. I run Vero29s at .7 amps and can get within 4 inches with no problems. I think it's doable with scrog, but would be wise to flip that switch early. Also, should consider minimum of 4000K and maybe 5000K.

We here generally don't suggest 2700K because of efficiency issues, so 3000K or higher though as I just mentioned, you might want to consider a higher Kelvin temp since it's associated with shorter internodes/plants.

The emitters can be found at digikey and other electrical component sites. If you check the datasheet "CXB3070 datasheet" and get a part number you can do a search with it. Same with the driver. People here in the states generally either buy heatsink profiles from heatsinkusa paired with a fan of some kind or use arctic alpine cpu coolers.

Ok lots of info there now I def know where IMA buy everything from. Now if you were going to do this same thing what exact ones would you get too flower and veg with 1 light? Basicly looking for a shopping list.....led are so confusing first go around lol

Thinking about this, assuming the top vent is centered, might want to consider locating the vent fan/filter outside the tent and hooking the lamp to it. Done this way you could get the lamp within a couple inches of the top. If you have a filter inside the tent with the lamp below it, 36" could easily end up being a problem.

Yea, little confusing at first but as far as color temp anything from 3000-4000 is fine for both veg and flower.

Ok thanks a lot. I'm basicly gunna take 2 pieces of aluminum and put holes in it where I want my LEDs n I think IMA go with the artic heat sinks n put holes in the other piece of aluminum too have the fans coming out n sandwich it all between the 2 lol not fancy but effective. Just gotta pick everything out and start fabricating.

Also do I need a heatsink for each emitter? I can't wait till its all ordered so I can quick running in circles lol

Buenotime did this same tent size over in the micro section on icmag. He used three cxa3070 3000k at 1500mah and did very well. The 3000k veg very well and flower the best. I would go with three cxb3070 3000k and a dimmable driver. You will want the dimmer when the plants get close to the lights.

Another idea to consider is making a mounting plate in the ceiling of the tent and keeping the heatsinks on the outside and the leds on the inside. This would increase your head room and lower heat extraction needs.

I have been running two cxa3070 3000k in a much smaller cabinet. The flower chamber is tiny at 20"w x 11"d x 29"h. I need to keep the plants within 6-10" from the light to keep the internodes short. I mounted mine through the ceiling for the extra head room and I am very happy with it.

Are you going to run the 6 cobs, I'm looking to set up a small cabinet grow same size as your small tent but in a small plastic storage box, I want to run cobs but debating to run 4 hard or 6 at 700 mA with the hlg-120-c700. I'll probably scrog too after the party cup completion. Just wanting a small set up for my closet.

I got 4000k emitters from k ingbrite once, and have been on a waiting list since. Two months ago...

I'm gonna go with 4 n push them harder I think. N I have sad news one of my outdoors autos that I'm flushing too cut I found a small spot of bud rot on the main cola......cut it all out wasn't much but I'm not taking any chances......IMA cut the cola off later today though its still heavey with nutes though. That cola is ripe I was just flushing for 2 weeks too let a few lower ones ripen n start harvesting cola by cola as they ripen but isn't gonna be an option....IMA have too prevent this as much as possible on my main crop....never really had this problem till our su!mmer n weather went too shit.....

Yeah that's what I'm thinking of doing too and run four vero 29s 4000k and veg and flower with them and put them on a 5.8 x 18" maybe even 20 heat sink and run them around 700mA or on a hlg-120h-c700 maybe more if there's enough volts. Damn that's a bummer about your autos. I have two autos outside too never had any problems with bud rot but hope you can get that under control. If any one could help me out in how many PPFD would 4 vero29s V2 ran off the hlg-120-c700 would be still lost on the math when it comes to figuring that out haha.
