Diminishing returns?

Hey RUIs was wondering... is there a pot size not worth surpassing when it comes to growing auto's? i have some 12 gallon pots from some previous grows w/ regular seeds and i was wondering if say from a 7 to 12 i will notice a difference in their growth? could it even potential harm the plant i.e., it channels its energy on root development for a good preiod rather than growth? I have no clue and thats why some suggestion might seem odd. please enlighten me!

because that has worked for you or are you basing that on facts?
Harley is wise well beyond his years in terms of plant troubleshooting/diagnosis and all things cannabis grow-related. He's also only 1 of 3 on RIU that I would follow the instructions of blindly should I ever need help and ask a question.

by the amount of posts and rep i would assume so, but a guy that says he's "fighting ignorance one choker at a time" strikes me as an arrogant person who might find it amusing to mock people who understand less about this topic at times. anyway, thanks for vouching for him so i know he's not up to shit! :peace:

His chicken choker comment is related to him shutting down the egotistical asshats that we have in a small quantity, he's relatively straight-forward and blunt with his commentary but will tell you like it is, good or bad. I've never seen him sugarcoat an answer, off the top of my head. =)

i have 5 gal containers and 3 gal containers both strains in different size pots, the 5 gals are more lush/ huge compared to the 3 gal not by much but you can see the differences of being very bushy, and alittle taller and spreading out more then the 3 gals... i dont think 5 gals would be recommended of going past but this is my opinions of 2 cents

yeah i guess if they yield slightly more it would only be a must if you were to isolate "yield" from everything... but you need to consider the extra soil and nutes which might not seem much more, but can amount to something in the long run, making the call very close. So i guess ill go w/ 3 then... thnks!:peace:

short answer is the bigger the better

you get one shot at a root ball with autos , restrict it and the plants smaller as are yields , having said this i grow in 6 litre ok and ram in 16 under a 600w , outdoors i go for 11 or more
