disease or deficiency

What Nick says is in fact true for me as well. I have pretty good air flow, temps/humidity in my g-room, and have not been able to save plants I have brought over. This is exactly the same problem NickNasty is having. I was starting to think my partner had a bad batch of nutes. No one is using "Iconic" right? I dont use it but I know thats what he was running.

The temp/humidity issue should be fixed with the modifications to the room. Now I am just waiting on the bounce back. In the mean time I am hitting them with everything I got to feed micronutes, and anti-fungal.

Thanks everyone for your help thus far.

OK just to update this thread and help anyone who may have encountered this....We have finally beat this (knock on wood). Not to say that it wont pop its head back up if I dont keep humidity under control. I honestly think thats what caused this. It is a bacteral leaf curl. What bacteria im not sure, but after using a "sulfur burner" it has subsided, and new growth looks great. Humidity is a big problem for me at this particular spot.

The other stuff I used in conjunction with the sulfur burner, and in addition to the nutrient lines being used:

greencure
Exel LG
flora shield
superthrive
earthjuice "microblast"
humbolt super nova
humbolt dark energy
foxfarm root drench

Some of these were used in foliar spray which was done on a daily rotation.
Other items were used in feeding, watering, or in res.

Are you sure it isn't a Calcium deficiency? I know that the new growth will be wilted and dying, turning yellow with a cal def.

not a cal/mag deficiency. It does show similar signs, and that was my first thought when I seen them for the first time. But these symptoms go much deeper than that. On the curling leaves, you can almost see a fungal coat on them. really weird nasty stuff.

Hey Smoking Loon I think I figured out the problem. I think we have Aphids. I looked at my leaves under a 30x microscope and I saw what I think is aphids crawling all over them. My friend who also has the same problem also has the same bugs crawling on his leaves. I think the reason you and I see signs of them getting better and then it coming back is because when you foliar spray you are basically washing them off the leaves. I am buying some lady bugs along with some other stuff tomorrow to kill them off. The reason we get black pistols and dried curled up leaves is because they are sucking all juices out of the new growth.

That may be true with yours. Mine was not Aphids though. I work at a garden store, and fight them all day.

Also if your looking under a 30x microscope to see them, it may not be Aphids for you as well. Aphids are visable with the naked eye, and are small red pin head sized adults. They can be white as babies. Cyclamine mites however are much smaller and threatning. If you got those, game over.

I am glad you seemed to have fixed it though. It can get discouraging when problems like this persist for long periods of time. Heartbreaking I tell ya.

I have not fixed the problem yet.... I took a look at Cyclamen mites and they very well could be that.... might go ahead and buy some Avid and try that on some of my veg plants...

Man if you got cyclamin mites, you could be in real trouble. Im not real sure how to get rid of those. Let me know what you find out, im definitly intrigued. I will help if I can.

I know that sulfur burner cured my problem right up. its now a thing of the past and all the plants are healthy and blooming. It takes a week or two after burning it to notice new healthy growth.

if it follows and happens on the clones you took back to your place, it is disease.

unless you also made the same mistakes as your pal with setting up proper conditions.

No at my place they bounced back. It was bacterial leaf curl like I said, and since I added a 8" vortex fan, a portable AC, unsealed it, tore the mylar down and painted flat white, it has disapered, and everything is fine..thing of the past. Nick is seeing pest on his which could be causing the same symptoms I had.
