So i built two of these DWC buckets, i plan on just doing one plant in a grow box. butttttt when i filled it up with water to let it chill and see if there are any leaks the caulk from under the airstone deteriorates and it becomes unstuck. I used the same caulk you did and let it dry for more then 24 hours, any suggestions????

thanks a bunch!!

Hey man the Rasta Pit was f*cking awesome! Great tutorial as well. I'm going to try your setup. I do have a couple of questions though seeing as this will be my first soilless grow. If I built three of those tubs (to accommodate 18 plants in total) how much lighting should I use? Should I try three different strains? I wanted to have a variety and figured I would try 3 different strains, after which isolating a male and female of each strain to allow pollination and thus create a hybrid? I could be way off here, so make fun if you must but I'm here to learn. Thanks a lot man and keep up the good work.

Its funny how people here the word hydro or DWC and think it takes a pro to accomplish it. I hope people see this thread and learn that it is simple and fun. Who cares if this thread is old keep it going. By the way I keep the air stone on the bottom by useing 2 ceramic coffee cups, the ones with a handle, and put the stone and the air hose through the handles. This keeps it at the bottom and easy to retreive if need be. I use a 35 gallon tub for 6 babies and the grow extremely well. I know its big but I like the extra room for LSTing. Keep this alive tokers ! ! ! !

i just built pretty much the same setup....having some major droop issues...but i think i got some defective seeds.other then the res changes i like growing this method....its a lot better then watering every day...i converted a party cup grow into a dwc grow....cut bigger wholes in the bottom of the cup and taped it to a net pot...its now got about 3 foot of roots growing under it..when it was root bound as hell.all has been well so far...but its been a bitch to keep the ph on track...but thanks to the OP for some great post....rasta pit bull f'ing rocks

I'll be switching to this method after my current dirt grow is complete. Anybody know of a container that has is more then 3 gallons with the same Rubbermaid measurements but more height? My grow cabinet is 24"L x 22"W x 72"H. I can go high!

TIA

P.S. I don't hear much about Haight LED but I think they have a lot of advantages and are priced lower.

Yes I'm aware of Rubbermaid and their products but they don't have what I need. I'm looking for a different manufacturer that has something that is similar to the 3 gallon except with more height.
