So here is a parts list for a simple bubble system. This system is very "explosive"

  • A bucket or tub (black or non transparent, light will get in and grow algae)
  • Air pump (the more air the better, so don't be afraid to put two airlines/air stones into 1 bucket/tub)
  • 1/4" tubing clear or black
  • a lid to fit bucket or tub
  • net pot (size doesn't matter)
  • media of your choice
Guidelines

  • Keep water level in bucket or tub touching the bottom of the media
  • make sure the bubbles keep flowing (stones and diffusers will clog easy)
  • Keep roots healthy. H202 helps kill root rot.
  • Monitor PH (5.5-6.6 depending on the plant)
  • Add nutrients a little at a time (start with a quarter suggested rate and slowly go up)
So check out this youtube video it shows you the system and you can find the parts needed http://www.betterhydro.com/diy-dwc.html

Remember the Simpler the better

SO here are some pics of this system. These are different pics of different buckets. Your system can have one bucket or 12 buckets or even more.

all you need to do is make a whole just big enough for the air hose to fit through. Make it in the lid or the top of the bucket. You can make two holes for another air hose (For more air, I wouldrecommend it).

Then just connect the air stone to the air pump.

This bucket has a diffuser and a stone in it . Two stones are fine
