Okay guys since I am new to the forum i couldnt find a thread on how this is done. So im going to post my method  Hope u guys like it.

Materials

-Coffee Grinder
-Turkey baster (Get the metal kind!)
-Coffee filters
-Pyrex Dish
-Frying pan
-Stove
-Water
-Butane
-One Hose clamp
-flat head screw driver

Alright first i will guide you through making the extaction tube. The kind of butane i buy comes with valve attachments in the lid. I use the yellow one which fits the end of my turkey baster perfectly. Cram the yellow valve into the small end of the baster.

Now grind up all your shake / buds (buds = better quality and higher yield ofc) until it is basically green powder.
Fill the turkey baster with the power and tap it down slightly with the end of a screw driver (DO NOT CRAAAAAM IT JAM PACKED!)
Fold your coffee filter in half and then in half again. fit it onto the end of ur turkey baster then secure it on using the hose clamp.

Take your frying pan fill it about 1inch with water and put it to boil on the stove

For this next part its safest to be OUTSIDE.
take your pyrex dish and newly fabricated extraction tube outside. Spray the butane through the turkey baster into the pyrex dish. when it comes out clear, change the weed powder to fresh stuff and dsicard the used bits.

When your out of weed powder or butane its time to boil off the butane and be left with pure honey oil. to do this simply fetch your pan of boiled water and bring it outside. Set the pyrex dish with the butane / thc mix into the boiling water the butane will instantly start to steam off.
When your oil thikens and No longer bubbles it is ready to be scrapped and put into vials / smoked.

No pics atm. i will get some when i find my camera  enjoy hope u all like my guide

Pyrex dish

This is exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP. A lot of people say that butane hash oil is way superior to ISO hash oil, but it's really, really dangerous and you can get hurt. I know the original poster did say to do it outside, but there's really quite a bit more to this. There's a pretty good video on You Tube showing some truly brave guys making butane hash oil.

I'd never do it--too chicken. I'll stick to the ISO method.

But I agree with ProPlayer--hash oil is . . .oh, it's heavenly.

Question for hash oil lovers: how do you smoke yours? Ever tried hot knives?

Oh, so you do hot knives? Are you using a kitchen butane torch like the kind you use for creme brulee? Stick a metal rod into the oil and coat that, have the hot knife ready, and then you inhale through a straw? You know you can use a bottle too? Makes it a little easier to "aim," if that makes sense.

I've also seen some wild, and I mean wild, glass pipes with titanium beds for burning/vaping this stuff. I mean, out of this world.

Its totally not as bad as you make it out to be, just do it outside and your fine. Its way cleaner the ISO oil, the final product is way, way more clean of impurities.

I always make honey oil with my trim.

I bought a pipe with threaded ends and 2 caps for it. And I bought a 1/16" drill bit to make all the holes. Total cost under $15 CDN.

I always extract the oil strain into HOT water, as soon as the butane and oil hit the water the butane boils off. Its sooo much easier to scoop oil floating on water to put it into containers, and when you pour the water out you get a nice ring of oil around the pot that scrapes off easily with a razor blade.

Last batch I made, I just do it on my balcony, never had a problem.

I still cover any open skin. And I wear a gas mask, I would rather peal a melted gas mask off my face than get a lungfull of flames.

I seriously doubt anything would ever happen, but better safe then sorry. Just do it outside with plenty of airflow and stay away from any source of flame or sparks.

No Leilani, I just use a BernzOmatic torch and heat my knife up and then take a drop of oil let it hit the knife and then inhale thru the straw..lol...I use a paperclip to dip in...I hear ya on the aiming part though...lol:bigjoint:

i found if you put water in your catching pan/bowl it makes getting the oil a lot easier. the oil floats in water and you can scoop it up with a plastic spoon or knife.

:clap:Hey i'l give that a try cuz it sucks scraping it out the pyrex.
Yes it does. Put some water in it and the oil sticks around the edge of the pyrex dish in a nice ring thats sooo much easier to scrape off then getting around the inside edges of the pyrex.

Well, see, the helmet and all that? It's just a bit too much for me. But to each his own, and I"m glad that you've got a system worked out with the butane that works well for you. Like I said, I'm just too chicken to try doing it that way.

I'm curious: what is it about the ISO method that makes it less pure? To me, it seems like it would be as pure as the butane method. I mean, it evaporates quickly, and hell, ISO is used to sterilize all kinds of things. I do know that those who do this and know both ways prefer the butane product, but I don't understand why. Just don't get it. Don't get me wrong--I'm not trying it, no way. I am way too chicken, but I'm curious about why it's considered a better product.

Definitely using water makes it easier to get the oil out.

I cannot wait to do this, probably next week.

Question:

Does anyone take actual buds to do this, or are most of you using just the trim? I'm just wondering, because I love this stuff so much that I wouldn't mind using buds, but I'm curious about the trim.

Anyone here use the ISO method?

I have made ISO oil many times. Using bud just means a higher yield and a much better final product. :weed:

With ISO just be careful!!! Theres a lot of fumes when you boil it off, I seriously suggest putting your oil in a bowl and floating that bowl in a pot of hot/boiling water. The water vapor mixes with the fumes, and just never ever do it with a gas oven.

If you have time you can even just put the iso in a warm place outside and let it evaporate over a few days too.

Oh I know there are fumes! And yes, exactly as you describe it here--you make a double boiler and put the corning ware or pyrex over that.

I'm itching to try out this really old, almost antique, metal coffee percolator for straining the ISO and plant material. It's got two strainers, with the smaller of the two being on the outside of the larger one. By smaller and larger, I mean the holes are smaller/larger. When I saw that, I just thought: perfect!

I can't put it outside. Would never work!

iso polar - removes thc oil and chlorophyll witch is plant matter. bho non polar - only removes the thc oils off the plant and only the oils
