Diy cob diy advice.

I dont know much about it but thanks to a few ppl here Im thinking im going to pull the trigger on a cob diy to the sum of 400ish watts??

couple questions tho.

-for my 2x4x5 tent is 400 watts enough to grow 2 nice yielding plants?
-do i need a driver per cob?
-should i have many lowerwatt cobs or fewer higher watt cobs?

- 300W would already be enough. If you run them soft then 250W would even do.
- No
- may lower watts would be better (as in bette light distribuiton and less height needed), but fewer bigger ones works fine too

Here’s some different fixtures for a 2x4 so you have something to compare to the light you’re thinking of building. 400w would be pushing it in that space when 30w-35w a square foot is enough.

Keep in mind you can DIY easily quantum boards, strips and can save half the cost !!!

He means more cobs ran softer will give better light distribution and allow you to have them closer. It will increase efficiency too.

What cobs are you looking at using?

Hmm how do they compare price and efficiency wise? I have never seen anyone even mention them.

get Luminus, use 250 watts worth in a 3x3, and its great,

COBS kits has them for $33 i think, cob AND heatsink, not bad. I use active cooling tho myself.
