DIY cool tube question

Just thought I would throw another question out there

I know they say to use an oil lamp glass, or bake a round glass

But

Couldn't you use glass from a 7 or 14 day candle

Just cut out the bottom and you would have a very durable round tube glass to use

Just wondering what everyones opinion is on this

cuttin the bottom out would be something I personally wouldn't wanna deal with but check out my sig and see one on the simplest ones in the site. I used an aluminum duct thingy (not sure what its called) and cut it to make the reflector. Here is was it looks like inaction.

I guess some misunderstand what my question is.

DIY is for those who can not afford to just run out and purchase the real deal

People with limited income have no other choice but DIY

My idea of using a candle is exactly what it is. An idea. A cheaper alternative.

Believe me if i could "just buy a cool tube" I would

And to purchase a Bake a round on ebay is 30 dollars.

A candle cost about 2-3 dollars. Glass cutter 5 dollars

With a little determination and patience you can easily cut the bottom out of a candle

Don't you think its at least worth a try ?

Try it dude! Let us know what the conclusion was. You plan on burning the candle for a week?

Also consider building the reflector. A finished one looks like this. The tube is not connected on this one.

A-Wing reflectors are the best on the market.

Actually you put the candle in hot water and the candle comes out.

Throw away the candle

Use a glass cutter to remove bottom

Then use other supplies from home depot to finish building :blsmoke:
