Diy cree cxb3590 3500k help please

Really appreciate your advise! I can get the 2 citizen fixtures with 3 COBS for around $500 here which is like my budget , i cant spend more than that , i just found a couple boards but are more expensive than that , but i will keep looking for sure i dont want to spend $500 which in Costa Rica is a load of money hahaha and then regret my purchase
You can get one set of them boards for 300 to 400 hundred.

That sounds really good! could you please send me the link or how can i check them?
https://szbava.m.en.alibaba.com?tracelog=alisupplier_sns_minisite ask for Rita,My advice is ask how much it would be for the A Driver Or dimmer with it.You can go without it but in veg you can save power and move it closer.Tell her you want the lm301b diode they are the new most efficient one. These lights are real good for the price.Evrything is good I haven't had them to long though. They have cheap carbon filter, tents and all also.

I just went through all this, cobs, samsung diodes, like the quantum boards.I went with the quantum boards on Alibaba,I can tell you who to contact also if needed.I got 2 sets of lm301b Samsung diods 288 4 boards, with 480 watt drivers.600 something with shipping,I forgot to get the dimmer and didn't realize the HLG driver was b not a.The quantum board couldn't stay in stock so,also I found plenty of evidence on YouTube, they are good. Here is a pic of one.
For b series get the rapidled dimmer it more effecient than most of the 100ohm pots https://www.rapidled.com/cased-potentiometer-with-knob/

Great! So reflectors will be, thank you so much, right now i am just hesitating on how to proceed i can only afford Citizen 1212 at least from my market so i am tinking about purchasing 2 cob fixtures of 3 units with an HLG-185 each and dimm them to 1100mA instead of 1400mA, hlg-185 is or 240 are the only drivers i can get in CR, hopefully i can buy today and get right of my blurple lights, they worked for me and my learning but is time to move to a real light.
You need neither lenses nor reflectors inside a tent. Save the money for other things. You could use 8 Citi 1212 on an HLG-185H-C700 but thats only 200-220w. Better take a HLG-320H-C1050B(B means dimmable via 100k potentiometer, 10V PWM and 1-10v dimming). COB's would run with ~35-38w each and you got at least 300-310w net, up to 330w at the wall. Fits much better in your tent, you could use the light at 12" above the canopy and you don't need shitty reflectors. Remember, even the best reflectors are only 94% efficient. That means you effectively loose light when using them. They are perfect to bridge a larger distance but they are useless when it comes to growing; and its the same with lenses.

Thank you, i will make sure to save the money! what about 3 Citizen 1212 with HLG-185 and another 3 with another HLG-185 in order to have to separate fixtures, would that work?

HLG-185H-C is only available in 350, 700, 1050 and 1400mA. For 3 Citi1212 a HLG-120H-C1400B would be better(~160w). If you want ~200w you would need an HLG-185H-36A or B on an ELG-200H-36A or B and run the COBs in parallel. This two drivers have ~5,6amps and divided by 3 each COB would get ~1,85amps and would run with ~65w each.

Thank you boss! Really appreciate it, the only HLG-185 the have here is the 185H-42b, how about that one?

@Randomblame @CobKits i have a quick question and hope any of you could help, If i run 3 citizen 1212 with a meanwell HLG-185h-42b what will be the wattage per chip and the total wattage? Also any site where i can learn how to calculate this myself?

Regards.

driver datasheet>determine max current
divide this current by # of cobs to determine current per cob
look at cob datasheet to determine voltage at that cob current
wattage = cob voltage x cob current

This driver has 42v and 4,75amps(always a little more, 108%), with 3 COB's each COB would get around 1,6amps. Voltage should be just below 36v, maybe 35,5v. This means around 55-58w per COB and 165-175w net and up to 185w at the wall. With this combi you use the driver in constant current mode and the endsystem could run with 21-42v(constant current region). The voltage regulator is anyway not working in this mode so the B version fits better for dimming.
I would use the rapidled dimmer(6,50$) because it allows 0-10v dimming without external power supply. No need to search for or make your own 108k potentiometer to really get all out of the driver and no need to solder anything.

@CobKits @Randomblame @OLD MOTHER SATIVA thank you so much for the help! I really appreciate it i wanted to know the wattage in order to realize if it was plenty for my 33x33 inches tent, I think it will do the job with those watts and i will ditch the reflectors then.
So..
Not exactly what you are talking about but I run a Cree 3590 3500K fixture in a 33x33 inch tent.
I use reflectors. Perhaps I will ditch them though, a lot of more knowledgeable folks are stating they are not needed in a reflective tent, so thinking they are on to something...

I also have a 5 cob'er running 250 watts for a 2x2.5 tent

6 cobs running at 320 watts total(54 watts each)

Thank you so much for the reply! May i know how have them worked for you in regards of yields and quality of the herb? I know Citizen are not as good as a Cree or so people say so i might not get to your yields but at least close. Nice Setup seems a lot like mine 6 cobs at around 330 watts.

Sorry, bro! Thats "duplack"!
Citizens are just as good like Cree's or even better depending on which one you use. And the plants really don't care as long as they get enough light.
You can reach +1,5g/w with all exsisting COB's even with Citi1212...
