DIY EBB and Flow, 400watt Multi Strain Tent Grow

Ok, so i have been away for a bit taking care of family matters. but now it is high time to start it back up. So here i go, I have a stealth tent i will be using with a 400watt MH bulb, along with a 6" exhaust fan with speed control. I built my EBB and Flow system from some simple parts from lowes for a total of $60... which is damn good for a DIY. Im not going to get into what parts i used and all that b/c i rather just get into the good stuff.

I have ordered my seeds offline and have had them for about 5 months. Just have not started them until the weather in my area started to warm up. I just put the finishing touches on the system this evening and i am about to germ 4 of my seeds. I will be growing out, 1. white castle 2. G-Bomb 3. Blackberry and 4. Orig. Northern Lights.

I have you water pump set to flood twice a day for 30min each flood. I have 2 12" air stones in the res. and my pump, pumps 100gal. an hour. my res. is 15gal and my flood tray is 10gal. I used plastic ceiling board to help aid in keeping the cubes off the bottom of the flood tray to drain better.

i will be going out this week and picking up some PH control and some more things for down the line. If anyone has a suggestion about my setup or something that i should look into, please let me know. I am always open to ideas and input. I will post more pics and update once i get the seeds to germ and sprout.

let me know if you think i should do something different, or should look into trying something to better my crop. all input is welcome, but please dont be an out right dick... this is only my third grow and my first using an HPS light and ebb and flow, so i am still really new to this method but i will do my damnedest to make it a good read from here on in.

Sweet little set-up mate, but I'm afraid I can't offer you an advice as I'm a soil grower.... I'll be interested to see how this goes though - nice selection of seeds too!

You've got a reply now at least!

Good luck!! :)

ok ok ok, we now have sprouts! 3 have popped their shells and the 4th one has dropped a long taproot just barely poking out the bottom of the cube. Im hoping in the next day or so it will sprout.
currently i have these sitting under 2 CLFs, just for the time being. in a week i will put them under the 400watt.

looks good I like how you ran your heat exhaust threw your water heater vent.

gonna keep an eye on this.

edit: I also like your DIY flood and drain setup im still very new to EBB and didnt have the diy info or skills lol.

thanks man. it worked out really well, my tent fit perfectly in the corner of the room and running my ducting up through the water closet was the best way to keep it stealth. lol this is my first ebb and flow setup, the last 2 grows i did were small time closet soil grows with CFLs and i did not get much of a harvest off either of them. So, im hoping this will give me a better yield now that i have proper space and a HID light. on a side note, my 4th seed has dropped its shell and now its just a matter of days before i toss them under the big light. pics to come soon.

well, today i had some taproots about an inch out of the bottom of the cubes so i went ahead and put the 1.5x1.5 cubes into the 4" cubes and put them under the big light. Today is the first day on 18/6... the last 4 days have been under straight 24hrs of light. i will post some picks tomorrow.

that's actually a very good idea with the stock paper over the rock wool cubes i have been seeing algae pop in and as from what i have read it harmless but i just don't want it there anymore. gonna actually try that. I was thinking using four toothpick one per corner so it doesn't it get wet when it gets flooded because than you'd prob have the same problem on the wet paper.

its not stock paper. i took the centers out of some heavy duty wax coated paper plate and put them wax side down.

ok, here they are 6 days from seed, not bad if you ask me. I have also added another fan to keep the temp down and also put in 2 new seeds, these are just old ass bag seeds that ive had for like 2 years i guess... maybe a little longer. lol But we shall see how they turn out, not hoping for much from them but its all pot. those two were bagseeds ive had for a min. it took them 3 days to germ and then i put them right into the rockwool cubes. so they are about a week behind the other 4
