DIY led questions

I plan on using the CREE XML XM-L T6 in a diy led light. My question is what led power supply should I use to power 20 of them? I have also considered the vero 18 if I ran those I would use 10 of them and what driver/ drivers would you use for that. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

XML's are not a very economical solution. To replace 1 Vero18 you need about 10 of them. I suggest you to reconsider the LEDs you want to use.

For space a few 4x4 tents possibly bigger but my plan was to build multiple 300 watt lights to spread the light out more to try and cover more area. I liked the price of those vero 18s but I'm unsure of what led to the power supply to use.

It really depends. Also other than size how's your budget? There is a battle for efficiency and costs as well. The cheaper you go the less efficient the light. The more efficient you design your light the higher you drive your price up. That will also play into driver choice. supraspl has some good data charts floating around that will answer a little of that. Have you looked through others diy builds on here? Some really good ones if you haven't.

And for the space and wattage you listed should definitely check out growmau5's bml spydr clone. should be on the first or second page of led section.

I'm trying not to spent too much money as this will be my first build. I like his build but I want to try and make it a little cheaper for now then I won't mind getting the better stuff in the future.

6xVero18 + Meanwell HLG-185H-C1050 is good combo. 3 of these drivers + 18 Vero18s would be a fine choice for a 4x4 tent.
(3) x 4xCXB3070 + HLG-185H-C1400 would be even better choice with a very similar price per photon.

how does the efficiency compares between these two options ?
