I ordered a lumatek 250 watt digital ballast and was still needing some parts. I was able to find an old MH (400 watt i was told) streetlight with a mogul base in it.:!::!:

http://www.vosslighting.com/storefrontB2BWEB/itemdetail.do?action=prepare_detail&itm_id=5110&itm_index=5 <--- I am guessing this is the one, only one stamp with rating 1500w/600v... (on the inside)

I will be running MH and HPS at different times with the same mogul/ballast. Everywhere I read to get the KV 5 pulse if i remember correctly. What does 5Kv or 4Kv mean? Is this base a substitute I can not find any ratings for Kv?:bigjoint:

I'm pretty sure the pulse it talks about is the initial voltage needed to start the lamp. If I remember correctly a 5Kv (that's kilo-volt) pulse will start up to a 1000w HPS but I'd wait on someone to confirm that.

Also,
1 Kilovolt = 1000 volts

I second that!

Here's a link to 5 K-volt pulse rated Mogul sockets.

If you already have a "store bought" HID fixture, the Mogul socket should be pulse rated.
