I was cleaning up my girls about two weeks into flower and had some bottom branches that were not going to amount to much . Instead of throwing them away , I decided to see if I could get them to root .
I used a 11.5 oz. coffee can and an old air pump with stone from one of my kids old fish set up .
I drilled a 3/8 inch hole in the lid and dropped the two branches in. No nutes. Just tap water . I forgot about them for about 12 days and this is what happened . I don't need them so I might see if my son wants to grow them out .

Fun stuff! What is the PH of your tap water? ppm? etc?

some day i might need to clone, and i like the idea of some practice too.

I have no idea what the PH is in my tap water . I just snipped the branch with siccisors , scrapped the bottom of the branch and popped it in .

Proof that cloning isnt as hard as some make it out to be. You probably gave a lot of people a new idea on here, thats a great way to just have some clones for a small cfl grow or something, +rep!

im definetly for a shot at that. i ve had limited success with clones using rockwool or straight into soil so ur idea looks pretty simple and straightforward. im a soil grower, although ive got alittle dwc experiment on the go but i never really thought about hydro cloning. well done + rep mate.

That is the exact same idea I had with the exception of a heater to keep it at 75 degrees but nice job dude sure beats the hell out of those 200$ cloners lmao!

thats for the positive input guys. This system can be expanded so easily. Just use a small tote with several holes to do several clones.

cloning is way easier then people think hell all you need realy is some rooting plugs and some glass jars

Yep great idea man you also don't need a dome with this method they don't wilt when sitting right in water if you have a cool air temp you may want to add a heater water temp 75 is perfect anything cooler and they will be slow to root hotter and you will get algee problems I have found 75 to be the sweet spot!

I have 28w cfls so how close should I put the lights to the clone?
you can put your lights wherever you want, clones dont need much light. i use a tinny ass 10w cfl for my little aero cloner thats the same as this except i used a small tupperware container instead of a coffee tub. these little aero cloners work awesome, they're such an easy no hassle way to clone.
