DIY Scrog Grow Box

So this is my first post and i thought id show off my homeade box. Ive tried to post a detailed description 3 times now and every time something happens so ill keep it short. Basically for flowering i have a 150w hps and six 26w 2700k cfls for side lighting. There are just two 26w 6500k cfls for veging. Ill add more when it needs more light. Pretty much everything except for the fan, carbon filter, and hps was made. The box was supposed to look like a 6 drawer chest. I got lazy and my current situation doesnt require that amount of stealth. So for now it just looks like a 24x24x65 stand. If i wanted i could stain it and put some fake drawers on it. Maybe later? It is sound, light, and smell proof. The exhaust is vented out of the back and into my apartments dryer vent. Ask away if you have questions on anything DYI.

nice looking box man, you said you made it is sound, light, and smell proof, did you do anything specific to make it sound proof ? Also about the smell, did you do anything else apart from the carbon filter ? And finally I couldn't see any intake in the box, did you build any ?

You did a really good job with that box, looking good.

Here is the screen a little closer up. Its basically just 1/2'' pvc, 4 1/2''pvc corner pieces, and rope. Drill holes in the cross pieces. I choose 2in cause thats what ive read. Dont glue it together though. Everything about this pot/screen setup can easily been torn apart by hand fast in case of an emergency. You cant get in trouble for just a grow box:) Thread the rope through the holes you drilled. Then simply twist the pieces down till its tight enough for you. Its nice cause you can just pop it on when the plant gets to the right height..

Thanks lince.. Since i made the walls double layered to hide the main wires i got some sound/insulation spray foam from my friends recording studio and filled the walls with it. Safety code for a building says you cant have extension cords ran through walls cause its a fire hazard because of humidity but with that spray i dont have to worry about it cause theres no oxygen between the walls. I too can prevent forest fires:) All bolts/screws have thick rubber washers for vibration. It doesnt vibrate at all and the only way you can hear anything is if the door is off. Plus the fact that it goes to the dryer vent system of my apartment helps the air sound you usually hear after fans.
I dont have anything other than the carbon filter but i did put about a pound of silicone, pickles, onions, and all kinds of other shit in there. My sense of smell sucks but i had me lady smell the exhaust with the door shut and she couldnt smell anything. She smells EVERYTHING lol trust me:). I do have Ona for when the doors open though.
The intake is passive. It comes in underneath the stand through the shoebox light trap. Then for extra measure i cut and framed the hole in the back in different spaces through the two pieces of board and it has an ac filter it goes through to keep pests out.. So it kinda has 2 lighttraps.. Heres a pic of underneath the stand where it comes in. I wish i would have taken pics through the actual construction of the box:( Here it is with just the inside wall built but i added on to it to make it taller after deciding to go HID and cfl.

Ya i spent alot of time figuring out how i wanted to do everything. You can pretty much see everything in the pics but a quick explaination. The door is held on by 4 pins. 2 at the bottom and two at the top. The two at the bottom are bolted in and sharpened to a point. The 2 pins fit into holes on the bottom inside of the door. The 2 top pins are what hold the door in place and allow you to open it. You can see the holes that go through the frame of the box and then the frame of the door. You have to take the velcroed top off to access the top pins. The overhang from the sides of the box slide into the trim of the door. The trim is only fastened to the door. Hopefully the pics make it a little more clear.

Sure heres an update. Im on day 29 from seed. Im waiting for the smaller of the 2 to catch up and fill its part of the screen up before i flower. The first 2 pics are from today. The 1st pic shows the taller plant filling its part up nicely. The 2nd pic is the shoots of the smaller plant that still need to reach the screen. The 3rd pic is them yesterday before a good training. The 4th pic is just showing the veg/side lighting from a week ago. The 150w hps is just used as a reflector with no bulb. 5th is cause i like pictures:lol:

Thank the lord for subscriptions! Looks sweet dude! Have you had a harvest yet using this setup? Also, for you giant pot are you using two 15-18gal. rubbermaids the top with a bunch of hole drilled in the bottom, then the bottom one with one hole drilled in the bottom that drains into that bucket? Sign me up for some SCRog!

Scrogging is fun. Gives you something to do when your just sitting their high looking at em lol. Nope first grow after 5 years of waiting for a place to grow and reading other peoples posts. The rb's are 4 gallons. Figured id only need 2' worth of room per plant (8'' to the screen+4'' of horizontal growth+12'' of stretch [northern lights are not big stretchers]x2 plants) so i just went with the 1'=1gallon theory. Maybe should of gone bigger but i should be ok. Yep rb holding FFOF has 20 holes in the bottom. It sits in another rb with a 1'' hole cut out of the bottom and holes for ventilation on the sides. These 2 sit on one of the lids siliconed to a platform. The lid and platform have the same 1'' holes drilled in them. Under the platform i siliconed a needle valve in the hole. So when i flush all i have to do is hook up my braided hose, run it to a bowl or whatever you want on the floor, open the needle valve, and let gravity happen. McGuyver is a bitch lol.
