DIY thermostat controlled outlet?

Any one find a how to thread anywhere that tells you how to wire a thermostat to an outlet to control a small exhaust fan? I would imagine I would need an old style thermostat the uses 110v instead of 12v and a relay of some sort?

Why dont you just get a fan with a thermostat, or just get a thermostat that is specifically designed to attach to something? Sounds much easier and safer.

I bought THIS Velleman Thermostat Module 5º - 30ºC kit for this exact purpose.

it can turn up to 3A (120v) on and off depending on the temperature.

It can turn fans on when it gets too hot, or turn them off, so you have full control.

It's about 8$ for the parts, or 15$ ready made. All you need is your own 12v supply.
