DIY with Quantum Boards

I was thinking you could just throw a bent piece of metal (like an open piece of straight duct) over one of these boards instead of putting lenses on it. Drill a few holes, slap the driver on top, and hang it.

I should tape it up with foil tape to reduce the light spillage inside. A lot of this temp is probably just IR from the LEDs bouncing around in the case.

I run optics on all my fixtures. I did test some without and is not as happy.

I feel strongly that optics put the light where It's intended and is therefore beneficial.

I haven't run any quantum boards yet and my first ones will have lenses.
Thank you for testing i wish could do more tests but space is super limited here in sf :/. I'm thinking of going with the 60 degree lenses but I'm worried about coverage I need to cover a 4x4 with the 2 bars that are about 6"x35"
