Below was the mother of the plant above. . My pump air locked while I was gone and she dried out real bad for about 5 day. This was only 3 weeks into flower and damn near killed her. She pulled through though and only spit a few seeds from the experience.

I just joined the club and ordered my qb288 and plan to put them in pairs running up to 120w per board so 240w Problem is the 8 slate 2 heatsinks are going to cost me $350 US inc shipping am I better off buying a aluminum anodized plate pricewise and what size and thickness plate per 2 boards?
Do i bite the bullet and get sinks ?
I dont want to put all these awesome lights together to burn them out .
Any advice please

If you source all together from HLG you can get up and running .....

No hunting for material
No trying to figure thickness and thermal effectiveness
No tapping small M3 threads .....
If buying separate slates you can build aluminum angle rigs ( 2 board each )
Or 2 4 panel rigs ....

You will STILL need drivers ( unless you bought complete kits )
You will need 18 gauge wire ( red / black ) solid core
And if you didn't order kit ... You will need a 3 prong power cord to connect to driver.

Plants will thank you.

So experiment time ! ........

Getting the next batch of youngins ready for some Quantum love ....
Kinda in Air Prune lately .... Gorilla Glue in a " Air Solo " ... Lol.
4 Candy dream getting a rack for air prune .... Bigger one already hit bottom , then it's into bags ... They will be FEMBOTS ( the peyote pollen ) and ( BD pollen ). And are for breeding only. Once bagged and growing ( sex mature ) they will be flipped and DUSTED.
1 gallon for just breeding and ease of care. GSG for growing and consuming..

8 slate 2 heatsinks cost $160 plus shipping, which won't be that much if your in the USA, maybe $45. They are already drilled and tapped. sheet aluminum will work but then you need to pay to have it cut and it won't dissipate as much heat as finned heatsinks. I've seen sheet aluminum used, it works, but, that big chunk of metal is also restricting air flow. IMO, I'd spend the money to get good heatsinks

Is it really important to use solid core wire? I'm having a tough time finding any locally. I've got lots of stranded wire around though.
Some folks use thermostat wire. Should be able to find some at your local hardware store.
