DIY with Quantum Boards

that looks amazing! so do you actually need the cooling or because its there already you are using it?

It didn't occur to me to retro fit an old HPS hood. i really like the way it looks. I may pick a couple of used ones up and use them for my light fixtures.
With that setup I didn't use heat sinks only the 1/8" aluminum plate. So yes active cooling is required. If you want a stand alone unit then use heatsinks on neck of plate and it works well.

Total wattage draw of that fixture is 550 watts on 110 volts. They are using 220 so slightly less risk wattage draw as the driver will be more efficient. Generally 1-1.5%

Would this be a great option to light them up from underneath? I just harvested under 2 200w bars, and I got too much popcorn and useless buds. I would like to see how to blast them up from down there, too. How much of a space would one bar cover?

That's what I was thinking like putting them on the sides left and right as side lighting

Narrow and longer boards. 3-4 inches wide 24 inches long. Still In Design phase and will take 2 months.
@muleface suggested 3x3 boards.

Don't know what batman is using.

Feel free to throw any suggestions.
Are those ceilings high enough to grow good weed?

I recently found out that the Wayne Bldg in some of the Batman films with Christian Bale were shot at Trump Tower.

Batman is probably using T-12s behind some cool diffuser!

But your new size sounds very interesting and versatile. Roughly the same square inches as your current QB offering. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all your feedback.
Please feel free to suggest any ideas and Steve and I will consider them for future.

We have not decided details for new boards yet. It will take at least 2 months for it to be ready for sale.
I like the idea of half the current board's width and twice as long. Same diode count and price.

We also considering adding 90 CRI option.
We are also considering lowering voltage to 52-54V so that there are more driver options and constant voltage drivers can be used too.

Exploring different board dimesnions. Also looking into adding red monos. Ledil optics not really easy so new board may not be compatible with optics or may use some other optics.

We are also considering if we need to increase efficiency or reduce cost.

That's a home run for sure! It is hard to imagine a coverage setting that your current offering and a 2' offering would not cover. It is easy to imagine in the not-to-distant future panels edging out cobs. They are so much easier to cool and you can still get good coverage while staying close to the the canopy. Good on ya!

The long board would be good for getting ppl's feet wet also. Someone has hps and need a sidelight solution to clean up that larf but hps runs to hot, solution slap some boards on the wall with a few inches of spacing and blast them mids.

It would be nice to have a vertical roller to move the board up and down a wall as needed.

So many options.

The long thin board will be nice to upgrade from T5 to awesome IMO

I'd be interested in the 90CRI option, as long as the spectrum does a good job of covering the red end.
