DIY with Quantum Boards

Apologies, I get lost in all the pages of all the cool threads I'm following. How much will the new heatsink cost compared to the old one? How much will it weigh and how hard can the boards be driven on them? So hyped on getting these for veg, and maybe even for flower.

I'm not Stephenj37826, but I have spent a few nights at a Holiday Inn.

You get that number by taking 100K/the number of Meanwell power supplies you want to control.
I see, One to control all three supplies.
If using only one driver it would still be 100k?
I'll be running 3 boards in parallel with the "( HLG-120H-C1400 with 2 or 3 or 4 boards for 170 Watts)"

I have a 100k pot hooked up now and it doesnt completely dim the panels though I didnt expect it to either.
I used an Audio taper and not Linear from an old TV control if it matters.

Lol, just went in there checking on things and didn't bring my camera. Leaves are staggering with nice young buds. I've been trying to Doctor one of my plants though as the FFOF was off. One other thing I noticed is that the bottom fan leaves are facing the sides of my tent and nicely taco shaped telling me two things. One the light penetration and spread is amazing bouncing off the tent walls. I'm sold on what I'm seeing so far. Jury still out on a complete flower harvest but have no doubt it will do the due.

LOL! You are so mean - teasing us. Ha ha. I think you QB Board guys are using photoshop.

It wont dim to zero, but around 10% I believe
10% is still bright esp since as current drops the leds get more efficient

Yes, one driver would use a 100K pot. And if you bought one, go for the linear taper.

I can tell you that a 50K works great on 2 drivers. For all practical purposes just taking a volt meter and putting it across the control leads gives you the percentage of power you are sending to the cobs/QBs.

I like to turn it all the way down when I am trimming and checking things out...much easier on the eyes...then full ahead with the photon torpedoes!

The old Slate 1 heastink was $14.75
The new heavier Slate 2 will be around $19.75
The longer 3x board size Slate 1 around $40-$45

what is the recommended wattage with this board?
The Slate 2 is designed for 1400mA use or for 1050mA-1400mA with grow spaces having less airflow.

Website has been updated with new lm/w numbers based on AZ and A1 Voltage bin. The values represent min and max.
Will update website after testing each batch.

https://www.rollitup.org/t/meanwell-led-drivers-3-in-1-dimming-function.838760/

Single driver 100K ohm.
Multiple Driver 100K ohm/ (number of driver)

If you use 100K pot with 3 drivers then 0-33K ohm will give you dimming at 1/3 way it will be 100%. rest 2/3 rotation will not change intensity.
Use linear taper. Audio taper will give non linear dimming.
I always add a resistor in series with pot. 10% the value of pot. This is to limit min to 10%
https://www.rollitup.org/t/meanwell-led-drivers-3-in-1-dimming-function.838760/
Check meanwell datasheets they have nothing below 10% and meanwell are not dim to zero (not sure about new 400+W HLG)

with 100K ohm audio taper on 3 drivers you will get 100% around 2/3 of the way. last 1/3 rotation useless.

I'm only using 1 driver but with 3 panels in parallel but I understand what youre talking about.
Still building my frame but will put the kill-a-watt on the audio tapper to see how far off it tracks. I t seemed
fairly linear to the eye last test but its hard to do with all those lumens flying around.

I'll swap out the audio taper pot and add a 10K resistor in series since I'm waiting on the flower room to finish up in the next week or two.

Thanks for a great product and tech support.

Plant update - Blue Dream - Gorilla Glue and Bubble Bomb

QB is killin it .... My plants act like they were on steroids. Intense growth filling up tent .
Had to move out a smaller candy dream because of leaves blowing up.

The Quantum Board Refit is doing extremely well for a SINGLE panel build.
So very happy with this design.

Buds are nugging up and GG is preflower / Bubble is still vegging and stocky.
I LST those to to let more PHOTON GOODNESS IN.

OMG. Amazing. How many days has it been since you put them under the QB? 6 days?

The test for me was can they flower well and produce buds and weight. Looking pretty amazing to me.

I wonder how much weight this one board can pull?

What would be comparable to this one small board in this growth/flowering we are seeing here? A 600 watt HPS or 400 Watt HPS. This is really impressive.

thanks a bunch @robincnn those were the numbers i was looking for you rock thanks so much will be buy another board once the slate 2. thanks again great efffing boards man keep up all the good work.

p.s some 660/730nm add-ons would be the icing on the cake @ Northern grow lights i think

Yeah i cant remember when i first turned on panel ( i think around dec. 26 ) she was just out of sexxing/preflower. I had a Blue coral in there before with her ( grew huge ) but i found out is a stubborn " Auto " and actually is in another room being force flowered under 12/12. The other 2 plants ( GG and BB ) are out growing space.

I plan a SCROG grow next under QB - seems that is the best way to control space within tent. But i believe i could do a solo grow with one plant centralized in middle and would think my lone single panel could do very well. That blue dream has been stuck in that corner since using panel and even from there..... it is unreal on even light spread within tent.

I dont plan on optics with any future builds ... Just gonna let her rip.
