30"x20", wired to a hgl 320-2800A, this will be compared to my (8) Cob
Setup, and will now continue to use both#

So I don't have a light meter, i have it turned down as low as, (A) version, and whoa, might be too much, grow space is 34"x48"×72":(

Any idea on how many watts when all the way down ? I hear ya about the lights, it's hard to grasp how intense they are in pictures. Such a simple clean way to build a powerful lighting system for growing at a fraction of the cost of what's out there. Something prebuilt off the shelf would have to move mountains to compare to this. I know there is a lot of hype out there but all types of COB growing is where it's at.

In my 2x2.5 5sq ft my two board build was over powering all the way up in flower. So far for my setup 100w veg and 150w flower seems to be the sweet spot.

Is this the new one with the COBs? What temps? I wonder if this new rig can take on SE HPS or DE?
I don't know anything about SE or DE as I have no experience with them. I do have experience with HPS and HID lights from using them back in the day. The bottom line is light spread and light footprint. HID lights brightest point is the filliment in the bulb and everything hitting the reflector or above the bulb is lost. If you spread out that intensity over a wider footprint vs a single point we're seeing better results.

Traditional COB builds users try to overlap the light footprint. Also they have to increase the light distance from the canopy.

I saw a high end LED that may run ads on this web site I will not mention the name. They had it in a store. Same type of set up as QB but about 2.5 to 3 x more money. QB is the real deal.

What are leaf surface temps?
Pretty much room temp ... Leaves are actually purpling due to lower temps at night.
You could hold your hand directly under panel for a very long time.
Its like it doesnt even put out any heat. I could touch heatsinks without any noticeable heat.

Its running so cool that i have had a bit of PM show up on a leaf or two.
So adding heat to grow space ( tent ) is apparently needed.

Both rigs are running at about same temps .. Room temperature.
The heatsinks are so evenly matched to panel ... I can see why TIM is not needed.
