DIY with Quantum Boards

So Im thinking of running the 4 qb 288's I got on an hlg 240h- c1050. Is there anything wrong with using this driver and running four of them in series? I know the 288 board guide suggests using an elg-240 c1050 for four boards in series so I was wondering what the difference was between the 2 and if there's any detriment from using the hlg over elg
Should be fine the forward voltage of that driver is 238v and your power will max around 210watts with about 60% board eff.

Few questions.
1. Trying to outfit a 5x5 space, and a 3x3. Going to run 2 boards in the 3x3, and 4 in the 5x5. Not sure if I am going to go with the 304 or 288's. I'm thinking 304's, since you get more par/umoles. Any input would be appreciated.

2. What dimmers are you guys running? Would love something digital.

3. If I run the QB's full blast, should I go with an active heat sink instead?

4. Is there an optic for these boards? Does it need it?

304 woods be my choice with your parameters.....

Ya I am not caught all the way up on this thread,,But I am curious also which is the better of the 2,,or is that a ambiguous question, depending on driver, how many QBs per build,etc...
I am most likely going with 304 unless told the 288 is better,,,both will have new higher bin,so sweeeeet:hump:
definitely excited to see how these do compared to my CXBs..
I see now how this DIY Tech Hobby is very addictive within itself,,cuz I've been rocking the party with the CXBs but the data and pics being presented thus far are just mind blowing,,this could possibly be extremely game changing imo...
Very thankful for all of cthose posting pics and there analysis of these QBs ,,it means a lot to ppl like me,,and hopefully things go gr8 and I return the favor,,,much love and peace to all:peace::bigjoint:

Life is merely a journey of choices,,and to not choose is a choice you must live with....

HLG is a tiny operation servicing a very fickle niche market. They ship every order by hand. They've paid for the board designs and they're working hard at innovating on tight margins.

Consider your money an investment in R&D okay? If you want a discount, go to Walmart or Mars Hydro. They'll make sure you get what you paid for.
No need to be a dick just asking if you get a discount on large orders that's not unreasonable...Also wasn't asking you anything so you really didn't need to be talking.

Interestingly, the Samsung H-series strips use the LM561C and 3 each of the 1120mm strips would equal just under 300 leds (about a QB board) and would cost over $90 from Digikey. And if that's not enough, the QBs have a built-in heat sink and mounting plate! Just saying.
Why does it matter what the strips cost? That's alot different than the individual led in bulk orders they are pennies. I'm fine paying full price just curious if I can save a little if I ordered a bunch at the same time

Just saying the QB is competitively priced. As for bulk ordering, you would have to have a lot of time, patience and incredible eyes to want to place and solder 304 mid-power leds. But let me know how that works out for you. I would like to know.

I'm intrigued my those strips, seems like the perfect application for growing microgreens. Would those 1120mm strips be intense enough at 10 inches above a tray?

someone should write a complete guide for quantum boards
this thread is getting ridiculously long to go through, not many product has a 138 page users manual.
ppl seem to keep repeating the same questions over and over again.
i know the they have a website with valuable info, but if someone would write all the combinations for 'all' the standard spaces down a chart on how umol/j relates to HPS vs QBs etc
how many ppl asked what light and driver should they get for a 4x4? it would be easier to give a link with all the data and explanation. and this thread would be more interesting.
im not bitching or anything, i would do it if i could. its just an observation.

peace

Everyone has different wants/needs so a one size fits all doc probably wouldn't cut it.

You can cover a 4x4 many ways!
There are 2 QB types. There are many driver options and you can use 1 to 40 number of QB in that space.

Sound good...but most people (not all) will not read a thread for the gold nuggets...they will just ask a question...even f it has been answered several time before.

Then still others will start a new thread on every single question that pops into their tiny noggin"joe" lol everything you need to know is on page 1 haha.someone kept telling me that till i gave up on asking questions in open forum.the new info page on hlg's website answers alot of shit as well.
