DIY with Quantum Boards

I had a 185H-C1050 laying around doing nothing. I ran a 304 with it briefly. For the area I'm covering, I'll probably have to dim it to around 35 watts. I had a single 55 watt COB in there and I was getting light burn on a couple plant! I think this is a good driver for use in a small space

Missed the bus and bought a 288 as well.
I only have room for 1 in my clone-grow room and was
wondering if the HGL185-C1050 is the least driver you could go with or
what other driver for a single board?

I'm running a HLG-120H-C1400 for 3 boards (which is a bit weak)
and wondering if I can swap it to run my single 288 board without damage and
buy something bigger for the 3 panel set up.

Hey robin do you have si-32 plugs for the 135w kit?

also, say i wanted to run a QB304 at around 150W, would a HLG-120H-C1400 be a good choice to drive it?

I'm running 4 boards on one driver for 360 watts total in a 4x4. PLENTY of light and the proof is it took a so so plant and turned it into a beauty! And everyone here using them is in learning curve mode. WE are the guys testing and proving these lights. Personally, I think you'd be crazy NOT to get the boards. degraded light??? I've no clue what you mean but these boards even run soft are kicking ass. You've seen enough of whats growing to know the potential here, quit riding the fence!
I changed my order. Thank you again Robin and Stephen!

I changed my order to the 304's(4) + 2 dual slates, going to use the HLG-320H-C2800. Off to buy some aluminum and build a frame now. Been playing with other driver scenario's. I may go with something different, but as of right now, I am going to stick with the 2800.

Same here. I've ordered 2700K (288's), hoping to swoop 3000K instead. I may or may not have been distracted by videogames when they went for sale...

I have eight boards to use at 1400mA in a 4x4' or 5x5' area. If I mount them on a 24"x32" aluminum plate 3ft(?) above the center of the canopy, how much am I sacrificing in terms of light distribution? I'll have only a thin acrylic sheet below the LEDs, in regard to optics.

So maybe they need to get people to drop a deposit and really get an idea how many boards they actually need.
We are seeing S6 bin lead time is 6 weeks.
2 weeks min to install them on boards.
1 week for delivery
1-2 weeks for testing, shipping

I don't think anyone wants to pay and wait 10 weeks.
Unless they buying on Kickstarter I guess

We are trying to shorten the turnaround.

Total 70 orders in system. And need to be fulfilled in 2-10 days.
Ok I was going to just walk away and say nothing else about the subject but ok sir.
That explanation is ok for the people that are adamantly waiting on the s6 bin but what about the old bin isn't s5 easier to get now. Shouldn't those be an option since they were good enough a few shipments ago. Impossible that there's a 10 week wait on those sorry. And for the record some people have been waiting 10 wks for you to reinvent a wheel and change colours.
I wish you guys nothing but success but your smugness and lack of customer service leave me doubtful.

The S5 really aren't any faster to get either way. We didn't expect the demand to grow so quickly. Remember these have only been available for 4 months and they took a couple of those months to catch on. We are adjusting as quickly as possible. It's not personal or high horseish we are honestly trying as hard as we can and honestly feel bad that we can't make everyone happy.

We have another batch coming first week of May. We can start pre orders for those in 10 days if that sounds good.

First post, signed up for this thread actually.

I ordered 4 288 boards/slate 1's and an
HLG-320H-54B to drive them.

This will be in a 3'x3' tent, single plant scrog. I wanted 4 boards for better spread, I will dial them down to probably around 250-270w I think. This will be my first DIY light and 3rd grow, first two grows were with mars led's. If this proves to be a good setup I will build another for flower tent #2.

Hoping to be much more effiecient with these guys.

Also another note, I emailed HLG and got a reply back from Robin over the weekend. They seem to have great customer service. Not sure why the hostility towards these guys, seems like they are trying to fufill orders as best they can. Pretty neat of them to bring a product like this to the DIY crowd if you ask me.

You run your company however you like sir.
I was trying to be helpful while voicing my displeasure. My free advice ends here.

Stuff like this happens in every industry. The QBs run cool, use less power and put out amazing light at a good price. Their popularity should be expected and in the short term, demand will exceed supply.

You can see this in cars, trucks, guns, real estate in some areas, some toys at Christmas and other products.

I am sure Robin and Stephen are doing their best.
