Do charcoal filters remove ALL smell?

Hi There,

I've just installed two huge Rhino brand charcoal filters to each of my cool tube lights. I run negative pressure in my room so can't smell anything until I go in to the room.

However, outside at the vent I can still detect a slight smell.

Before the whole area stunk. As soon as you entered our gated compound you could smell it. Now, only if you stand under the vent you can detect a tiny odor.

Are they meant to remove ALL smell? Do I have a slight leak somewhere?

Ta,
J.

I have a small set up, 3x3 with a 600w with lots of negative pressure, but every run around week 6 it's starts to get a little loud in the same room. Actually I'm in a condo and you can smell it for a few weeks at the end of the run.

Slow the fan a bit. Yes it should remove all smell. high humidity or air moving too fast through the filter will allow some smell. Leaks will allow smell. Get some metal foil tap and make sure of no leaks. Also slow the fan a bit.

Do you have Filter, cool tube then fan? If the cool tube is between the filter and fan make sure it is air tight.

OK. No worries, will reduce the fan speed. We had a major flood go through our grow room last week. Luckily everything is OK but it's still drying out (our aircons are removing moisture each day. Humidity is at 70% at the moment and going down - so maybe it's that? I'll double check for leaks again.

Guys! Thank you.

I pulled the system apart and made sure it was completely sealed using c-clamps and some sealing tape. It's perfect now. Can't smell a thing!
