Do I have this right?

If I want to grow two plants, is this is realistic sey up to grow in a small area, limited budget, beginner:
2 rubbermaid tubs (stacked with lid cut out for grow room)
2 cfl lights hanging from inside of lid
2 pots in bottom for plants
2 fans, one of each plant
holes in the lid for ventilation

Sound like a minimum to start growing? Or is this not even realistic?

u wouldnt even need 2 fans or 2 lights. if the 2plants are in the same room then u will b able to get away wid just 1 light an 1 fan

The plants will be inside the rubbermaid tubs, growing up through the top one to the lid. One fan and light would be enough?

yes just have the light so that it is suspended over both the tubes. an the fan can just stay in the room. its only used for coolin down the air temp

Is incense enough for the smell? Is it really that bad?

depends what strain ur growing. theres a producted call oust i dunno if it avalable near u but that covers the smell of most plants

I think I've seen it in stores before, I'll give that a shot. DO you know off hand what strain might be easy to try for my first grow? I was thinking of a BLUEBERRY 80%/20% Indica Sativa

its up 2 u what ya chose, but white widow is gud and so is a lowryder strain. the lowryder is auto flower which means that they will bud automatically no matter what the hours of light. there not that tall tho only get bout 2 foot.

I should be ordering the seeds soon. I'm moving into my apartment in 2 weeks so I'll either order them or just look in my area when I get there. Once I start I'll hopefully have pics up so everyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong lol. Hope this works out!

By the way, I checked out a hardware store in my area today for supplies for the grow and I found this:

light clamp for one bulb: $14
40w CFL bulbs: 2 for $8
rubbermaid tubs: $8 ea

Do the coloured bulbs (reds, blues) do anything apart from beign coloured?

I just found a good place for seeds that I can walk into which is wicked, now I don't have to order anything. So I'm getting K.C. 36 a Sativa/Indica mix. It flowers in 6-8 weeks and is supposed to have massive buds. It's only 75cm so that's sweet for indoor, and the yield is 175g a plant. The seeds are $50 I'm just looking into it a bit more to see how many I get.

All the input is much appreciated, this grow should be starting in a couple weeks, and ongoing through the first half of the semester.

I'll need some more lights as I recently found out. I should have them around the plant right? I have a cover for a light for a reptile cage for the top one which should spread the light around from above but I guess I'll put one on each side of the box at least. Please help me out guys, I"m trying to get as much info before I plant them so I can throw up some pictures of how great it's going, not how shitty my plants look.

I did not intentionally grow an auto-flower plant. The plant I intended to be my first mother is now also auto-flowering. I had switched from 24/0 to 18/6 so save money and just switched back, but the parent had also auto-flowered under 24/0. What to do? When can I take clones?
