Do I need a carbon filter?

If I smoke in the room that I grow should I evn bother?

If smells are getting to places you don't want them, carbon filter is my #1 odor control choice. Smoking in the room doesn't really make a difference.

smoking in your room will raise the co2 level, anything you do in your room will raise the levels but smoking is more fun
