Do i need to manicure more before canning and are my buds still too moist?

So i hung up my buds 1 week ago. I had them trimmed down very well, but i noticed within a day or 2 of hanging the buds shrunk and exposed quite a bit of tiny leaves. They're all covered with crystals so i was wondering if it's better to trim them before jaring or just throw the whole thing in?

Also, even though my buds are quite dry on the outside they're still moist inside. I'm guessing it because they're pretty big and it's taking a while to dry out the inside? Should I leave them hanging some more before putting them in the jar?

if their still moist inside keep them out until they are dry throughout and smokeable and if put in a grinder, it should crumble. not part of it, all of it. while their sitting out for another 2 or so days, just keep on trimmin em till their to your liking.

If you trim those tiny leaves save that shit. Makes some butter for brownies. I save all the leaves when I harvest and cook them bitches up. You spent all that time growing you might as well get as much of the thc out as possible.

It depends, if you sell the bud you grow, trim the leaves to keep up appearances and such, if not, they really don't hurt anything by being there.

this is all for me, so i don't care if it has some leaves on it. I saved all the trim from when i hung it up too. I'm not sure if i'm up to making hash though. Maybe i'll start trimming to make it dry a little quicker. I was thinking of throwing all the trim in a jar too. I'll just smoke that as well.

a can do any of these things, but next harvest, try NOT trimming a bud or 2, or even all, then trim wen theyr all dry. your releasing beutiful smelling terpenes in the buds wen u trim them, if u hang them out in the air then they just get away and u get that kinda, wet grass smell, almost a hey smell? i havent smelt it in a bit due to this tactic im telling ya. just a couple pennines OP.

You should trim your bud fully before you dry it..
let it hang for a week or so once the stems snap, throw it in your airtight container for a week or longer,
make sure you check your buds daily and let some fresh air get into the container
Just open the container for 10 minutes a day and that should let plenty of air in your jar, preventing mold.

why is that?

its much better for many reasons to trim when its dried. you dont need scissors, goes much faster, less mess, looks better, dries through the leaf not the bud etc etc ....

i used to trim while wet. then i sttarted getting lazy and now i realize that its waaay better to trim dried.

i think the best part is you get the whole leaf off rather then snipping it with scissors and leaving some on the bud. you just grab a nug and use your fingers to flick off the leaves and it looks much cleaner.

yeah also you can expect it to take every bit of ten day and upward toward a fort night when you dry it whole. its the way to go for sure:)

I dont know where to begin......When drying a plant usually let it dry any where from 6-10days depending on the size...Once these dry from the outside thats when you should put them in Jars....once in Jars or any air tight container all that moisture from the inside makes its way out to the outside of the buds. When you initially put them in jars they must be burped to keep as much moisture out. This is how we get a nice even dry......Drying and curing can either go two ways you know what ur doing and you get great tasting smelling smoke out of it or you fuck it up and get mold weed that doesnt taste like it smells....take this as a warning read up on these two processes. I know 2 growers that have been growing for a combined of like 30years and both stress that more than anything!!!

It is easier to trim when it is wet, but the drying process will be sped up. The slower the drying the better the taste and the smoother it burns. I hang the plant whole or split into branches for about a week. That is usually enough that the buds are still pliable but slightly crispy on the outside. Then I trim the leaves off of the buds and separate them from the stems. They then go into mason or bell jars to cure. I open them every day and pull out the buds for 10 minutes to get fresh air on them. After about 2 weeks I start opening them less and less and once they are completely dry they can be sealed until I am ready to smoke them. You can tell when they are completely dry by twisting a bud. If the stem makes a cracking sound in the center of a decent sized bud they are dry enough for the long cure. The longer they go the better the flavor and aroma. Plus the THC will be converted into its active form making it even more potent.
