Do i trim??

Im in week three of bud and while plenty of leaves are falling off daily, some folks have said i should go ahead and trim some of the big fan leaves off. Should I?

Those big green fan leaves are powerhouse energy generators and massive energy/nutrient storage banks.

Your plant is going to need all the nitrogen stored in those leaves, if they are in the way, tie/tuck them out of the way.

The reason your leaves are falling off daily (which isn't a great sign so early into flowering) is because the plant is desperately sucking all the stored nitrogen, etc. out of those leaves to support new growth, especially if you are using typical bloom nutrients which contain low levels of nitrogen.

Pruning to redirect energy is done by removing entire branches... there is no benefit to plucking fan leaves unless they are >50% damaged.

Yeah go ahead and cut those off, your plant doesn't need energy.

 Exactly! i'm glad i didn't have to come back and explain that.Too high and computer died lol

I got ya. Just to be clear. When i say plenty of leaves what i mean is every day or so when i clean up the room ill find i suppose between 2 and 4 leaves from the bottom area of my 6 plants. I guess what i meant to say was that normal plant activity is what i figure a few leaves every few days to be. I keep the ph between 5.9 and 6.2 and use the full compliment of House and Garden nuets. yeah buddy. I have a journal with a vid i just posted tonight that shows the little devils pretty well. Check it out if ya could and tell me what ya think.

hey friend. can you tell me if it works now?

thank you thank you.
Working great.

Those plants look beautiful bud, I wouldn't touch a thing. If you want to do some pruning to redirect energy on the next grow, I would remove the lower branches (remove the entire branch from the main stem, leave the fan leaf growing below the branch). You want to do this at least a week before switching to 12/12, or gradually over the veg cycle. This will redirect all that bud weight to the tops where they are getting proper light. The other option being using supplemental side-lighting or lighting with higher penetration. This isn't necessary though, it just moves those popcorn nugs into the main colas and increases your light efficiency, which can slightly (not significantly) increase yield.

Since you're 3 weeks into flower, I wouldn't touch em. Let 'em finish up, they look like they're coming out beautifully!

If you want to slow down the yellowing of the leaves, supplement slightly more nitrogen. I have no idea how you would go about doing this in hydro though!

I've done multiple grows and never could tell a difference between plucking off a few fan leaves hovering over bud sites or letting them go.

I wouldn't do too much at this stage, just the necessary ones. Of curse, then again I've never had any leaves fall off until 7-8 weeks of flowering.
