Hi guys whats your opinion on whether this is ready, this was taken from top of cola, however bottom shows little difference.
Should i begin a week flush now or wait a week then begin.
There are some amber ones in there as well.
Thanks

its personal preference tbh what sort of stone are you looking for? i like a knockout stone so i would wait for a fair few amber but thats just me

I'm looking for a medium stone between both, i thought the sticky on it said it made no difference?

i havent read the sticky tbh... IMO there is no set way to grow otherwise we would all be growing the same way with the same methods everyone has different opinions and methods they like to use,

if your plants have gone a little over the breeders suggestions and your trich's are a nice mix then i would say its time to harvest

I think she is kind of ready,
maybe you like to wait one more week, totally your decision

I'm considering giving it a week of flush and then seeing, do you reckon more will be amber by then?

What does the rest of the plant look like? There is more to determining ripeness than just going by trichome color, it also looks like your sample was taken from a sugar leaf, if you're going to determine ripeness solely on trichome color, then weigh your decision on the color of the trichome on the calyxes vs. the sugar leafs

Sorry people baby is asleep now so cant wake her for pics :(
Thanks for the info cooter, the leaf was taken from very close the the bud but i understand your point, is it fair to say that the leaf vs bud would mean that leaf could be significantly behind, or is it in front, if so could i assume that the buds would be much closer to the trichomes I'm seeing?
On another note if it is Close would it be ok to begin flushing now up until chop time.
Sorry for the bombardment, just curious, i love learning about the science behind this wonderful plant.

Look at it this way, are you smoking the leaves or the flowers? Typically (at least in my growing environment) Sugar leaves are way ahead of the calyxes as far as trichome color is concerned, my sugar leaves are 90% amber at harvest time while the tichomes on the calyxes are usually mostly milky, also judge the entire plant, often the top of the plant is ripe while the bottoms of the plant is still ripening. I do a dual harvest meaning I harvest the tops first (when they're ripe), then harvest I the bottom of the plant when its ready.

This advice is very general, environment, strain, grow medium, ect. ect. all come into play, so keep that in mind.

BTW i don't flush, if you grow in soil flushing a myth, unless you're trying to get rid of excess salt in your medium, otherwise it's just a waste of water.

Ahh ok so will take that into account, am currently growing in hydro but fancy trying a flush to see what all the fuss is about.
Thanks

some says, you smell or taste the chemical you use, I dont know what kind of shit they are using, but sounds reasonable :D
Ive never flush before harvest either,

I cant say Ive never smell any chemicals on my bud, on that case, I had severe mite infection and use lots of shit to get rid of them
then, go to early harvest, dont know why, sometimes people do strange things :D

ATT ATT , start the flush now, and flush for my educated guess, 2 weeks and they would be done where I would pull them, depending on your preference, what kind of high you like, doing what I say will give max thc. high head buzz wateing another week or 2 will give more cbd body buzz, if your just going to sell . then flush now and chop. then you can get more plants under those lights, make faster profits. hope my info makes sense , im sick as fuck, cant focus.

Thanks for the reply everyone
would that be better than feed a week, flush a week then harvest?

Mr I Can Do That For Half
I am a big supporter of flushing even in soil. If you use only organics you might not need it but if you feed ferts then in soil it is a must as if you do side by side plants then flush one and not the other there is a huge difference. I am not sure why cooter would call proven facts urban legends but to each their own. I do only hydro/aero grows now a days as they are so much easier, quicker, and cleaner to do inside. What do you plain to flush with pure water or a flushing mix such as flora kleen which is what i use. With flora kleen in flood setups I run it for 3-4 days then chop. Your pics look bit clear and not really milky yet. I go by a cross of hair color amounts and trichome color. I prefer a heavier longer stone which my indicas give anyways but an extra week on my strains really helps with that and adding crystal and weight. Its kind of getting to know your strains and your growing ways.On my long time stains I have grown for over a decade I know how much I can max nutes or how long I can go to get just the right characteristics I prefer. For me on yours with what we were shown I would feed one more week then flush for a week maybe 10 days if just plain water.

Thanks, i was planning on using just water (ph'ed and thats it), I'm may stick to a week of flush or 8 days as its important it be a Friday or Saturday so that will have to do, is there anything else to help my plant along the last 2 weeks, i've heard of trimming fan leaves but dunno what i think of that, i've seen it taken really far and be just buds on a stick for a week or more, am i best removing some of the biger leaves or just letting it do its stuff?
Thanks again
