do video players equal stupidity?

Every news website i go to (and many that have nothing to do with news) all have self starting video players that spit clips at you as soon as the page loads. they not only start on their own, they'll chase you around the page till you stop them...
can people not read anymore? are they so incapable of forming their own ideas that they need a droning video to tell them what to think?
stop those players, minimize them, and READ...then THINK....for yourself....i promise it won't hurt for very long...just the rest of your life. but the alternative is to be sedated by droning talking heads in a tiny box....WAKE THE FUCK UP...form your own opinions, talk to other people...you will not get along with some of them, but know what? that's normal...it happens when people think for themselves, they tend to form different opinions. then they can discuss those different opinions, and perhaps influence each other...which leads to understanding, and compassion, and tolerance (yes, i know it doesn't seem like it at the time, but have patience, grasshopper)....

i think it's more than annoying. i think it's slowly mentally gimping a lot of people. they don't have a lot of ability to think for themselves to begin with, and this basically removes any need to at all...just listen to what we tell you to think....

I shut down my Facebook account and stopped ever following a link to CNN because of the autoplay bullshit.

They do it to sell advertising. They don't give a shit it's annoying and a lie.

I don't go to many sites that have the auto players. When they are muted, I let them roll. But if the sound comes up, I'll pause it while I'm there. Most of my online time is spent on YT, except during the basketball season, when I'm on Tomahawk Nation.
