Do white americans just really not know how prejudice they have become?

I bet it pisses you off that Hillary is not the president don't it?
Well at least you can have some consolation in knowing that there is nothing that you or anyone can do about trump being in office

President trump said there were very fine people on both sides..so your comments about what trump said is misguided at best, get your facts straight.

I too am a privileged white male. With Trump in office, my friend now fears for his personal safety because of the color of his skin. Things apparently haven't gotten any better, that is for sure. I think the the some of the underlying tensions and fears were always there, but it appears there has more recently been an outside influence to divide us on the issues surrounding racism and nationalism...
I don't think white people are privileged, I don't like that terminology as it implies some kind of special treatment.

White people are simply the "norm" and we just treat minorities like shit and less than the "norm" in this country.

We need to work on having minorities treated as the "norm" too but I think implying there is some kind of "privilege" to people being treated as normal people with rights is bizarre.

When privilege becomes the norm for a subset of the population, it's still privilege.

Peaceful protests do not include baseball bats, knives, guns, and other various weapons number 1
Number 2. peaceful protests do NOT. include the following..destruction of public and or private property...violance..and pussies wearing masks to try and look like some wanna be bad ass"s
Every movement will have bad actors. I don't like to see that shit either, and it should be denounced, but the actions of a few does not represent the whole. What the NFL players are doing is 100% peaceful though. They are disciplined and effective.

See?

People shouldn't think of basic rights as a privilege of any kind, they're rights and they need to be applied equally to the entire population.

I'm not saying crackers haven't got it easy in comparison (because we do), its just the wording seems to imply basic rights are some kind of "bonus".

Having spent a little time in Europe, I find those folks to be more racist than Americans. Not many here will say blacks are not American, but ask any Frenchman if a Frenchman of North African decent is really a Frenchman. The answer is almost always no.

Who said anything about basic rights? Privilege provides benefits and treatment not granted to others, and which go above and beyond basic rights.

The fact that we also deny even basic rights to almost a majority of the country is shameful apartheid like failure.

Ask a US racist if a black person is even human. That is difference between france and elements in the us.

Em...no, most French people are quite accepting of the fact you can't colonize/occupy a country for hundreds of years and not allow citizenship for the people from the colony.

Maybe you just associate with racist fuckheads?

Well for example I'd say a majority of black Americans are denied their basic rights on a daily basis (which is fucked)...but that doesn't mean that white people are privileged, it just means we treat minorities like "sub-humans".

It's all semantics though, we agree on the facts just not the words.

Ok, but when I get pulled over with friends in the car, I'm the only one who has to show ID and I almost always get a warning and a have a nice day. Or when I get an interview for a prime job just because of the school I went to, or because someone knows my family. That's not treatment everyone gets. Doors open for me when they remain shut to others. And I'm nobody special. But everything I have has been helped because of who I am not.

It's privilege.

Most of those examples are more related to socio-economic factors that would not be an issue if minorities were treated equally in the first place.

If your antifa. you guys sure ain't that scary
That's a good thing.

The sweaty tattooed virgins wearing Spartan helmets with their faces screwed up in a rictus expression shouting hate speech are scary. About 10,000 counter protesters should keep the streets clean of them. That would do.
