I am doing 3x3x2 holes in my grow area... 2ft is the depth of the hole, should i do 1ft of loose soil that is already there then 1ft of the organic mix or should i fill the hole completely with my organic soil mix?
My soil deep down has gravel in it, other wise looks fairly good growing material.

If you feel like your plants may reach the other soil that isn't store bought when growing then you may want to mix a little bit of ground soil into your store mix. When the roots reach the regular soil they'd probably get a massive shock.

I fill my holes completely with roots o, steer manure, perlite, vermiculite, worm castings, and little bits of this or that. My first year when I was hard for cash I would mix native soil in as filler ( sandy loam )
