Do you press your MJ into the curing jar?

THCa slowly oxidizes so I thought it may be a good idea (after 1-2 weeks in the jar when it's established that no mold is going to appear any time soon) to press the whole load applying maximum pressure to reduce the amount of oxygen that can touch the trics. Also needs much les space. But does this hurt the curing process in a any way?

...don't do it... that'd be the same as vacuum sealing all the air out in a food saver bag. Ruin bag appeal and from that point it's brick weed. Ever tried breaking up brick weed for a joint?

Just no bro

Get a foodsaver attachment for Mason jars. You can get an attachment that sucks all the air out of the Mason jars and it doesn't crush your buds. They're cheap and easy, I use to use them all the time. Def don't crush your buds though and wait til your done curing to suck all the air out.. Need some oxygen to cure

Using smaller jars also works well because buds don't get stale by the time you get to the bottom of the jar.

can you please present info showing how thca oxidizes, at what rate under normal conditions, and what the product of said oxidation will be? Not saying it doesnt happen but you obviously arent looking at this in a practical manner. Pressing bud into jars to minimize air would be bad because your going to damage trichomes increase probability of mold, and effectively stop any and all curing from occurring. The rate at which thc oxidizes under normal conditions is so slow, you should be more concerned with light damaging your product realistically.

not trying to be a dick but you seem to be thinking beyond your understanding. You should brush up on the core concepts before you try to apply them to growing/weed in general

Compressing cannabis is not a good idea -- especially during the cure. It will settle a bit without any assistance.
When you give it a gentle shake, all of the buds should move freely. They'll be stuck to each other at first but will eventually separate without much agitation. You want some oxygen, but not a ton. Humidity is the biggest factor, which is why I like the boveda packets. Keeps it steady, regardless of temp (within normal range).
